video projector with Blu Ray player

I have an Infocus X2 video projector, and I'm thinking about getting a Blu Ray player for Christmas (I think it's Best buy that has an early Black Friday ad that lists one for under 100 dollars).
Even though I would primarily use the BR player with my HD TV, I would like to occasionally hook it up to my projector. I was just wondering if a video projector could take advantage of a BR player. the X2 says it's 1020p compatible, but I know that a BR player is higher than that.
Has anybody used a projector with a BR player? Does it take advantage of the higher resolution, or is it not going to be able to?

I appreciate any feeback about this.

1080p is the highest standard currently for TV's and video...so are you sure it's 1020p? or 720p?

ok, so it runs 720p or 1080i which is nearly as good as 1080p, so I don't see any issues with using that with the blu ray player, you'll probably not even notice what's missing between that and 1080p
