I don't have a Mac. I wish I did, but alas, I don't.

So...who can help me find a suitable alternative to Final Cut Pro that will run on my PC with Windows 7?

I need it to accept AVCHD and allow for multiple audio tracks.

Prefer that it is intuitive and easy to use so I don't have to spend a ton of time learning something new.

THANKS!

Adobe Premiere is my personal choice. In my expereince it renders faster and crashes less than Final Cut. My husband likes Sony Vegas.

Have you looked into Windows Movie Maker? I made a DVD using multiple tracks, video clips and still pictures from our recent trip and it came out great. It was also easy to use.

AVCHD is a pain to edit. Premiere CS5 or later, with its Mercury Engine, does a good job with it. I can run three simultaneous AVCHD feeds with minimal effects with no problem. A good CUDA enabled GPU really helps.

Another option with AVCHD is to transcode it. Before the Mercury engine, I used Cineform's Neoscene.

Fantastic recommendations! Thank you!
