Video camera/still picture capabilities

I have been looking for a good video camera that also takes good quality still pictures. Is there one yet available on the market? I have been looking for about 2 years and back when I was hunting strong for one last year, the digital photography for the still pictures just wasn't up to par yet. I was wondering if anyone had any experience or recommended a camera with both. Thanks! Amanda

There is not yet a single unit out there that's satisfactory. To put it simply, the optics quality for video vs photo is already very different, CCD needs to be optimized either for photo or video.

Currently, it's technically impossible to get the best of both worlds. Maybe in a year or two, you'll never know.
