Is the pizza actually, truly good at Via Napoli or does it get recommendations because people think it is a reasonably priced meal for the family?

I have been there once and although the pizza was good, it was not great. However, I will be giving it another chance at some point on a future trip.

I am a pizza junkie and I had hoped it would have been better than it was. But every kitchen has an off night.

I do think it is reasonably priced for the food. It really is a nice place to go.

Would agree, its good pizza, not great. Compared to other places, it is a good value, but probably the best pizza at WDW. It is noisy, but a fun place to eat.

I really liked the pizza and I feel like I can be a snob about good pizza!

The pizza there can be very good, and it can also be very average. IMO, Via Napoli is one of the most inconsistent restaurants at WDW...especially the pizza.

I thought the pizza was delicious. If/ when we return to WDW, that’s one of the few places on my repeat list.

(We got the salad also, but I didn’t like it at all. It was a waste of money).

It’s very good. I’m vegetarian, and end up agreeing to eat at lots of meat heavy restaurants with my friends - but they know that VN and Spice Road are my standing requests. We eat there almost every trip.

My family loves Via Napoli, we eat there at least once a trip. It is pretty good value too for a sit down restaurant.

Good, not great. Flavors are good, but I have found that the crust is too soft and floppy for the style they are doing there. On the other hand, I assume if they cooked it too long people would complain about "burnt crust" so I get why they do what they do. Next time I would probably specifically ask them to cook the pizza to a crisp doneness.

They use Italian imported flour and tomatoes, and say they use water that is very similar to that region of Italy. Add in fresh mozzarella, and I think the taste is great!
(And about as you could expect for what’s basically a restaurant chain operating a restaurant in Disney.)

The style they are doing is Neapolitan style pizza, the hallmark of which is crust that can be folded without cracking AND which is supposed to be eaten with a fork and knife. It is 100% authentic in that respect.

OP, the pizza is fantastic. Fresh, high quality ingredients, and minimal ingredients at that. Nothing fake. The cheese is fresh mozzarella so it is a different taste/texture than processed mozzarella. That type of cheese gives off water when it melts which contributes to the soggy factor, which is also why they don't put a lot of cheese on the pizza.

The pepperoni pizza there is the best I've ever had. I visit their CA restaurant here in Downtown Disney Anaheim (Naples/Napolini) at least once a month. They sell the pizza by the slice here and it is consistently the best Neapolitan pizza I've ever had. I grew up in NJ and this pizza is another level good.

I have found that people who don't like it are simply not aware of what Neapolitan pizza should be. If you go to Southern Italy, this is what pizza is like there.

Neopolitan pizza should have charred spots on the crust, it should not be completely pale. They either do not bake the pizza long enough or hot enough to get any color whatsoever on the crust, and that is my problem with it. I am in NYC and have eaten plenty of Neapolitan style pizza.

I agree. Good, not great. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again, but it's not somewhere I would plan to visit. Hard to say on value, you're paying $30-45 for a large or extra large "good, not great" pizza.

But it's important to note context...if we ignore Disney Springs, Via Napoli is also the ONLY good pizza in the parks and resorts. All the other pizza options are horrible, but kids are often conditioned to prefer bad pizza (a failure of society).

Ours always has charred spots on the crust. Sounds like yours has been undercooked.
