Here is my picture of that delicious chicken curry from the QS Yak and Yeti

That looks delicious. Y&Y is on my list to try next trip and it's good to know that the quick service option is great, too.

That evening I had dinner in the lounge back at the AKL. I was so excited to try the evening offerings and it was a culinary delight for me! I can tell you if you don't like indian type food or foods with exotic spices, do not book the AKL CL as you may not like it. What I really enjoyed was the chef had a station and was prepping the food right there in the lounge. Sorry BC CL you suck big time compared to this experience. They also had a nice cheese selection, veggies, dips, crackers, salads, and a nice beer and wine selection. The hot offerings were the lamb curry, which is the same served at Boma, and curried butter turkey. Both were outstanding and I went back for seconds and thirds You can pour your own wine but they get the beer from the back and bring it to you.

Wow, this sounds fantastic. I've researched CL quite a bit and will probably try it at some point. I had the idea that you couldn't really make a meal out of the offerings they have but it definitely sounds like you can. Very impressive.

Update time!

After my lovely dinner at the AKL CL I was invited to join good friends at the PT 50s in DHS for dinner. I met her here on the dining boards and have been friends now for a couple of years, Emmysmommy and her husband, daughter and SIL.. I wasn't hungry so I ordered a Kona longboard beer and tried the friend cheese app. I will tell you it is not normal fried cheese, but cream cheese. I would not order it again, but at least I know what it tastes like. It also came with fruit. We had the best waitress as far as being in character, she was mean but in a playful way. The best role play ever at that restaurant. We all had a great time!! After dinner I took the bus back to the tranquil AKL were they had the evening dessert hour. I tell you I do not eat like this normally, but I had to take a small plate back to the room. The presentation and selection were beautiful!

I really I am so glad I tried out their CL, I could just go there and not the parks and be happy! It was nice to hang out with Brenda and family. I will get to see she and her hubby next week! Dis friends are the best

The CL is per night, I paid $330 a night plus tax, that was with the 40% military discount. It's interesting that a CL room and a savannah view are almost the same price! FYI all CL rooms have a view of the animals.

Update!

The next morning I made my way down to the CL lounge early as I was going to drive over to the MK afterwards and wanted to hit all the rides early and leave. The breakfast fare was similar to the BC and other CL photos I had seen. It was a nice breakfast, which had a nice selection of fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, grits, bagels, pastries, cereal, and a few other items I can't remember. I love the jungle juice that is self service! Also the espresso machine was fantastic. I had a nice view of the lobby and that massive Christmas tree while I read my newspaper and had a nice quiet breakfast.

It is really great, however I also stayed at the BWI CL that gave this one a run for its money.
