Very new and thinking about purchase at DRR

As someone who bought 20+ years ago (when we had a lot fewer choices to make, I'll admit), I agree with several PP here - look at the points charts and determine how many points you'll need to stay in the unit size and season you expect to book most of the time, then buy that many points. (For instance, at the time we bought we had made several trips to WDW for Thanksgiving week, so we bought enough points to book a 2-BR at our home resort for that week.) Enjoy several visits to RVA, then decide whether or not you need to add on, then where.
