Very interesting...poll results

I find the results of this poll about DVC'ers travel very interesting...it does make sense but is different than I might have predicted.

Right now I have young kids and am a teacher...you know where this is going...have to travel during school vacation. We get 2 weeks in March and for the next 10 years, that is our planned DVC trip. Although I know this is a VERY busy time at the world, it seems that it is not so popullar for DVC'ers.

I certainly understand why. Traveling during times with smaller crowds and lower point costs sounds dreamy to me and will hopefully be in the picture down the road. But, for now we are stuck with March.

We have not found the perfect resale contract yet but have our fingers crossed that we will soon.

Maybe because Mrach is less appealing to those that DVC (at least on this board) maybe we will have more luck at the 7 months mark???

We were there last month. We were able to get a 1BR boardwalk view at 7 months for 5 nights (3/9-3/14). The earlier in March that you travel, the better. If your vacation falls during Premiere Season, your 7 month options will be more limited. No matter what resort you call home, you will want to book there at 11 months and then try to switch at 7 months.

The first 10 days of June and the last half of August are relatively low point times (Dream Season). Depending on your school calendar, you may be able to take advantage of those times. I think those may be a little slower for DVC, as well, so you may have better options at the 7 month window. Of course, it is a little warmer during those times of year! Even at those slower times, it would be difficult to get more "premium" rooms at 7 months if you don't own at the resort (e.g. BLT-MK view, AKV-CL or value, SSR-treehouse).

Our schools here in Indiana get out before Memorial Day, so we hope to go during the first part of June most of the time. Unfortunately, our schools start back up in the middle of August, so we can't take advantage of that lower point time.
