I've lurked for a long time but just had to share now.

We just booked Feb. 6 to 13 at the WL, and I was able to get reservations for breakfast at the Castle before the park opens. DD5 is going to lose her mind. Now I just have to wait almost 3 months.

Oh but think of all the planning you can do in those three months!

Congratulations! :thumbsup2

Welcome and congratulations!

Breakfast at the Catle sounds sooo magical! Your daughter is going to love it!

The three-month mark is torture. It's not until the last three weeks that it starts going by quickly. ;)

WL is a beautiful resort. You are going to have a wondeful time!!!

Three months will give you just enough time to plan your park days, what you are going to do in a given park, plan the clothing you are going to bring, replan that plan, pack the bags, make at least thirty or so lists... :teeth:

You'll be leaving for WDW before you know it!

Enjoy your trip!

(And in the meantime, enjoy the planning!)

Three months will fly by, especially with the holidays coming up! Your daughter will love breakfast in the castle. She's at a great age for interacting with the characters. I'm going at the same time and the only thing I've done is booked the Sunrise Safari, but then I usually don't plan too much.

I discovered last year that I like the planning almost as much as being there. (Last year the trip was a surprise Christmas present for my daughter and partner. This year it's just a surprise for DD, but I'm still the planner.)

As a matter of fact, I'm almost completey planned, which for me means picking a park and one or two events each day.

How does everyone else do this? Do you plan down to the minute, just wing it or something in between?

I've done a little bit of everything depending upon which trip you look at.

I've learned that if it's just my DW and I we can wing it pretty easily. We have a lot of similar interests and know what the other likes that we don't like. So, we tend to either plan which park and 1 or 2 things (i.e. a meal, or a first attraction) or just leave things completely open.

The first time we brought someone else with us we had a simple plan that included which park and a scheduled TS per day only. We quickly discovered that was a problem since we spent way too much time talking about where to go next. So, now, if we have others with us we have a plan that includes every attraction, bathroom break, etc. We always feel free to modify it as we go, but, it gives us a skeleton that we can hand out in advance.

I too have been lurking here for awhile. We make a plan and then have to be flexible with it as weather, crowds and children's temperments sometimes dictate otherwise! :rotfl:

We just booked our trip for January. We never tell our kids we are going. We just say we are going on an adventure. Last time we pulled onto Disney property - we told them we were going to visit family in NC, before they said, "It's not fair the people on those buses are going to WDW!" We still laugh at that. Poor kids.

I never plan much. When we were down a few weeks ago we didn't make any reservations, we just went with the flow. The only thing we booked was the Segway Tour. In a few weeks I'm taking my Mom down and I did make some dinner reservations - she has a hard time walking so I wanted to take time to sit down and relax a bit.

T-n-P is the queen of planning. Her itineraries are works of art.

Ordinarily, I'm no kinda planner at all -- other than to book flights, an odd ADR or two, and room ressies. (BTW -- Your daughter will LUV Cinderella's Castle; my granddaughter was so taken with it, she wants to move in :rotfl2: Scoring that ADR was totally worth the hassle ) Our trips have all been kinda seats-of-our pants affairs.

On my lil quickie trip next month though -- I actually do have kind of a plan. Of course -- it remains to be seen if I can be disciplined enough to follow the plan. :rotfl:
