Several questions...We are trying to book flights from NC. Choices are: Direct flights - Arrival at 7:05 a.m. or 3:00 pm ish. Stopover in Atlanta w/ arrival at 1 p.m. . We are going to MNSSHP that afternoon/night. Heard we can get there as early as 4. Question is - how long after flight lands until we are checking in to AS Sports? Also, worrying about delayed flight. If we take the early flight & arrive at 7:05, what do we do till room is ready? Suggestions appreciated.

I'd get in at 7:AM.

If the flight is on time you should be checking in between 8 and 9, dpending on the method you use to get to the resort. That's like getting a bonus day at WDW!

Check in and they will hold your bags until the room is ready. You can head right out to a park, DTD, mini golf, or swim at the pool...anything you want!

Check in and ask if they have a room available. We checked in before 8 am in 2004 and they had a room open for us, and it was in our requested location (although 1st floor rather than 2nd). I was prepared for it not to be ready, but a huge plus that they could find us one!

Definitely go for the early flight if you can. I believe you can check in as early as 7, so the earlier you check in, the more likely you are to get all of your requests met.

I don't even understand your question. Why WOULDN'T you want to get there as early as possible???!!!

Who cares if your room is ready???!!! Bell Services will store your luggage, even your carry-ons. Just go and start your vacation. Let's say you checked in at 9 AM and your room's not ready yet. Get going to a theme park! Or do whatever it is you like to do at WDW. If you want to go to your resort's pool, pack a small carry-on with bathing suits. Each resort has a small locker room/changing area at or very near its pool. When you're done swimming, change back into the clothes you wore to the pool.

I wish my flights arrived at 7:00 a.m. That would be a gift! As a previous poster said, it's like a bonus day at WDW.

I agree about the early arrival....but I would build in nap time that afternoon if you are doing MNSSHP that night....you will have gotten up in the wee hours if you have a flight that arrives at MCO at 7AM you will have been up since 3AM or so....and especially if you have young children....they will crash and burn before the party is over if you don't build some downtime in the schedule...that will be easy enough to do if you can get into a room before check in time at 3PM....a little more challenging if it is 3PM before you get the room.

This "early bird gets the worm insight" is absolutely true - the inventory of available rooms shrinks by the hour on any given day, so those checking in later have less to choose from.
