Did anyone else get this letter? It says that they will be doing constuction on the resort in the pool area from end of Feb to beginning/middle of April. Of course, this is the high-point season!
I'm just a bit concerned about this. We go every year during spring break in March. I called to get some more info and was told that there would be roofing work done on Community Hall, Eb & Flo's and the gazebo.
Will this make relaxing by the pool impossible? Will there be too much noise and the smell of tar? I can't get very many answers from DVC or the resort itself. I'm supposed to be looking forward to my vacation, but now I'm just full of worry.
At this late date it would be hard to change our plans, so I can only hope that we don't even notice the work being done.
******UPDATE*****
Just got a phone call from a mgr at Vero Beach. He was very informative. He explained that there will no tar involved in this roof work (thank goodness!) They are replacing shingles, so we will get to listen to a nail gun while lounging by the pool. He says maybe it won't be heard over the music. LOL! But nothing will be closed off. This is good news. They are trying to get done with everything before hurricane season comes around again.
I appreciate someone getting back to me (we had emailed them after getting the letter). It was really nice to be able to get more information to put our worries to rest.
