Vero Beach Questions

We're going to Vero Beach for the first time in May. We heard there are some great restaurants off property for dinner. We're looking for really nice restaurants similar to Yachtsman Steakhouse, Teppan Edo, etc. but where you can go in capris, nice top for ladies and business casual for men ... no suits and ties. Can anybody help???

Also, are there beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach there at the resort and if so, are they free or is there a rental fee?

We ate at Captain Hirams and it was really good, on the water. Also at Ocean Grill on the water was good.

Have a great time, it's a wonderful resort.

Captain Hiram's has good food, good atmosphere with live music, Ocean Grille has great food in a building with lots of character, right on the ocean. Another one we found this past trip (over New Year's) was an italian restaurant in the shopping area on a street near Ocean Grill is called Ti Amo Sempre. It's at 3001 Ocean Drive. It really was excellent! Captain Hiram's is North of the resort in Sebastian; The other two are in Vero Beach, about 15 minutes south of the resort. One other thing we did (not a fancy restaurant) was order pizza from the Orchid Pizza which is at the stop light right by the resort. They deliver to the resort lobby. Very good pizza.

The chairs and umbrellas are not free, but they do have a slight discount for members. HTH.

Ocean Grill, particilarly in daylight (so you can see the sea) is great!
