Vero Beach Beach Cottage

What are the odds of getting a Beach Cottage at the seven month window in the beginning of October? I've heard it is almost none. If we can't get one what about booking two Ocean view Inn rooms as opposed to the 2 bedroom. View is very important to us and I've heard the view is limited or none from the 2 bedrooms. Ocean and pool would be great. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd say if there were a time you had a shot at getting the beach cottage at 7 months, early October would be one of the best times to try. It's an "in-between" time of year for vacationing but can be a very beautiful time at Vero. Why not go for it and have the back-up options of the 2 Oceanview Inns or the 2 bedroom. The 2 Inn rooms give you beautiful views but you sacrifice the full kitchen and spa tub. That boils down to personal preference. I don't think you can go wrong with any of your 3 options.

Give it a try. I booked 2BR and 1BR originally at VB for the last week of June, and was delighted to find that my waitlist for the Beach Cottage came through a few weeks ago! I own at SSR so I was booking at VB at the 7 month window. These boards have been wonderful. I've learned so much about my DVC membership.

Definitely give it a try - you never know unless you try. We toured the Beach Cottage when we were at VB a while ago, and it is my very favorite of all the 3 br units. I haven't had the chance to stay there yet (hard to justify for a family of 4), but hope to one day, and will also be fighting the 7 month window.

We stayed in a 2 br that was right next to the Parking Lot and Mini Golf. We had no ocean view whatsoever, and hardly used the balconies because of road noise. A friend was staying in an Inn Room, and we spent one evening hanging on her balcony, and I loved it. I decided that if I were to stay there again, I would definitely choose the 2 Ocean View Inn Rooms over the 2BR. They were surprisingly spacious and if view is more important to you than cooking and soaking, then you would probably also prefer the Inn.

Vero Beach is lovely, and I'm thinking it's time to book a VB trip!
