Can someone please answer these questions about OVIRs at VB?

1. Do all OVIRs have a balcony? I've been looking at the pictures of the resort and see that some of the rooms look like they have only windows. Can anyone suggest a good OVIR that has a great view of the ocean?
2. Do the L-shaped OVIRs have a balcony that looks on to the ocean as well as a window that looks on to the pool, or just the window overlooking the pool?
3. Do the OVIRs have a safe for valuables?

Thanks very much!

Can anyone suggest a good OVIR that has a great view of the ocean? Yes, they all have a balcony. Sorry, don't know room numbers, but ask for an "ocean facing" OVIR.

2. Do the L-shaped OVIRs have a balcony that looks on to the ocean as well as a window that looks on to the pool, or just the window overlooking the pool? I think so, but not sure.

3. Do the OVIRs have a safe for valuables? They definitely do.

Thanks very much!

All OVIR's have a balconey but some balconey's aren't full view. Some of them have balconey's with a wall instead of slotted bars. We have the wall balconey once and I didn't like it at all. When you sit down you can't see the ocean all you see is wall. So now I always request a full view/slotted balconey.

We have eaten at The Patio and liked it very much. It is an interesting place to eat because of the decor. Lots to look at. The prices are reasonable too.

Here are some Pictures to share, these are from 07 and 06, I am still waiting for the Queen to upload her 500 plus pictures from this last trip. The whole family is going through Vero Beach Vacation depression right now, so you guys are my therapy.

Here is my oldest from last year catching craps at night on the beach, it is catch and release

I log onto the website last night from my wifes computer and noticed that the pictures did not show up, but when I pulled up the boards this morning from mine I can see all the pix.

We use Kodak to load the pictures on the web, so maybe that the problem.

If anyone is an expert, or knows even a little, that would be a whole lot more than me, I could use your help.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

You need to upload the photos to a photo hosting website like Photobucket, then link to the photos from there. Right now it's linking only to your home computer to pull them up so nobody but you can see them. www.photobucket.com

Speaking of Photobucket, here are some of those pictures of the beach...

My kids are 7 and 9 and pretty tall, that "wall" is over 4 feet tall...

Thanks Kickapoo Joie Juice for all your help, even an Old Guy can learn new things.

I have to ask, were you set up on that side of the ramp everyday that you went to the beach? We were always the last group down on the other side, Oliver the guy who set up all the chairs called us Tent City.

Much Appreciated,

Tom

My wife and i have our first stayat VB June 14th to 21st. I recall seeing mention how bad the no-see-ums might be. What was the repellant mentioned that is most effective against these critters?

I didn't see your pictures at first yesterday either, just those little boxes with the red X in them.

As an FYI, if you will right click on the red X, and select properties from the pull down menu, it tells you the http: address for the photo. If you will copy that address, and then paste it into your address bar at the top of the page and hit go or return, it will put the picture on the screen for you. After I did that yesterday, whenever I would return to the post, the picture would be there after that.

We had a great time at Vero last week and will be returning.
We ate at Squid Lips twice. First time it was great - I had Coconut Fried shrimp and dh had scallops, 2 kids meals, an adult beverage, 3 sodas and it was about $65 with tip. Second time it was good, but I thought it was way too expensive for what we got - dh and I both got sandwiches with fries, 2 kids meals and 3 sodas was $53 with tip.

Just wanted to add that it was the best coconut fried shrimp I've ever had and dh said the same about the scallops.

I just wanted to post a picture and let everyone know if you see one of these, it is a Portugese (spelled wrong?) Man O War, you should stay away and make sure not to touch them or their long tenicles. We saw quite a few while we were there and had two kids we know stung by them, the best way to find out if they are out is to stand on the beach looking at the resort, turn to the right where the Wabasso Beach life guard station is, and if there is a small purple flag flying under the green, yellow or red flag that means there are Man O wars present.

Here is one that I carried away from the surf.

Yep, that was pretty much our spot. My DH was out there a lot more with the girls-I was sleeping in:laughing: .

Tom and Kickapoo.....loved your photos....thanks for sharing. Looks like u both had the beach all to yourselves !

I remember from our last stay at Vero that they posted man-o-war and shark sightings via the flags. Wouldn't want to run into any of these. When we were at Vero in Aug 2000, there was a young teen boy bitten by a shark at Satellite Beach the same day we were swimming at Vero. We heard it on the TV in our room when we were showering for dinner. Keep in mind, Vero and Sattellite are about an hour drive away from eachother. Translates to about 20 min shark time ! The boy was bitten in knee-deep water. So definitely heed Belle and Rella's Dad's warnings about the flags.

Miz Diz.....thanks very much for the review on Squid Lips. We plan on checking them out this August.

Has anyone been to Ozzie's Crab House lately? We are leaving Saturday for Vero Beach (YEAH!!). We would like to do some good seafood while there. We are also visiting some relatives at Jensen Beach.

Beth

That's some picture of the beach erosion! I will need a step ladder to get to my room...thank heavens there's the pool!
