Keliblue....so sorry to hear this. Hope everything is ok with your family. Hope things get better.

Thanks guys, My dad had a stroke.. thank the lord, it was very mild and we just have some speech issues. It will be awhile before he can do for himself so we are staying home.. We are going to try for VB Sept 5-8 then a few days over at WDW for some value resort & free dining. Those free Southwest tickets are burning a whole in our pocket.. let's just hope that SW doesn't go belly up like the rest of the airlines

Actually, in 2006 I walked up to the CM and said we wanted to do a take-out and got the same "we don't do take-out". I said "Oh... are you sure? We've done it in the past". Then another CM stepped up and said to her "yes, we do it".

Hope it is just a case of new CM. I'll test the issue in June if nobody else does before me.

Thanks for the headsup and something to add to my VB adventure/task list.

When we were there in early January, I wanted to get the artichoke dip "to go" from the Green Cabin Room. They said they couldn't do it and I said oh, well, then never mind... I told them our room was right next door. Then they said they would see what they could do. So I waited and they brought it to me, covered with a cover thing. I took it next door to enjoy with DH on our balcony!

...just got back! Very tan, very tired, very happy!

I'll post a trip report once I finish unpacking and scraping the Milano cookies from the floor of my minivan...

Just back also, what a great time, 10 days went by so fast, had a great room, ate some great food, and met some more great people, Vero rocks, I will check in later as we found some new resturants.

Were your daughters playing on the pirate ship one day with two girls about their age? Those were my kids :) .

My daughters were SO happy to finally get to play on the pirate ship-they didn't want to play on it when the "babies" were playing (they're 7 and 9) but they had a BLAST when it was just them and the two other girls-never has a dollar store squirt gun gotten more use...

I am sure that it could have been them, I do know that they went over there also when the little ones were not on it (6 and 9). We sat everyday in front of the steps at the opposite end of the slide, someone during the week said to us "Oh you are one of those Michigan people", I took it as a positive.

Also just want to let everyone know, Riverside Cafe, Great Sunsets and the food was fantastic, just under the 60 bridge in Vero. I will try to put more down later, but we are on our way to our second soccer game of the day and still have not been home 24 hours as of yet.

Welcome home, Tom!

Looking forward to any reports by recent go'ers.

Anyone ever had a meal at The Patio in Vero Beach. Just stumbled upon their website. The menu looks good and the place seems really eclectic and interesting......... DH and I will be at Vero 5/11 thru 5/16 and are looking for a few places to try while we're there.

Thanks Rob,

Just checking in really quick, they have put a new home plate on the front lawn and dedicated it to Tommy Lasorda, also the Man O Wars were absolutely aweful when we were there, I probably picked up about 10 myself and disposed of them.

Another restaurant that turned out to be good and on the Ocean was Mulligans in the Holiday Inn right next to the Ocean Grill, kids eat free on Thursday night also so it worked out great.

We ended up with about 60 people in our total party at Vero and are going thru some major depression right now, I have to snap out of it because I have to get ready for Board Meetings next week, but the good news is that Hilton Head is only 72 days away.

That's so weird-we never saw any! Maybe it was the time of day, we were always out on the beach very early in the morning until about lunch time, then spent the afternoons at the pool. Maybe the man o wars were late risers :confused3

The beach erosion was crazy, I need to post a picture-we got up one morning and there was a 4 foot drop off the edge of the beach:confused: It looked like a giant bulldozer had come by and removed the sand-the kids made vertical sand castles in the resulting cliff...

Please do post some pictures of the beach if you can. Vero is the craziest beach I've seen. Some years it's very short, and others it's very long. We are heading in June, and it's been two years so I'd like to see a recent picture. Thanks.
