Vera Bradley lovers... help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the descriptions...that helps. I wish the vb website would post pics of someone wearing the bag and the insides. I'm thinking the get carried away and the hipster...now if I can get some coupon code or sale before my trip I'll be happy!

Just curious if any of you ladies got new bags in and what you thought of them?

I recently recieved two Stephanies...they are HUGE, but since I tend to carry alot of other peoples stuff, it has been working out well. It has great organization and is a nice structured/stylish bag. I am really loving it.

The pleated tote I ordered is WAY too big to carry as a purse. I think it'll turn into a diaper bag of sorts for awhile (the current one is ripping to shreds so I'm going to swap out and use it for that until #2 arrives)

I LOVE my Large Hobo. Love, love, love, love, love it. I switched all my stuff out and have been very happy with it. The magnet is strong so I haven't even been bothered with it not having a zipper. I'll try to take pictures later and get them up.

*eta* What time is better than now? lol.. these are pictures of my two newest bags. This now takes my VB collection to a pocket wallet, a cargo sling, a hipster, a small duffel, a large hobo and a pleated tote.

Just an FYI...Vera Bradley just announced on their facebook page that they will be having one day only sales again this week.....starting tomorrow. The only hint is they said tomorrow's bag starts with an 'M'...

Both bags, side-by-side (large hobo and pleated tote)... tub of wipes to try to show size.

Is that hobo in the new coral color?? I love it. Is it a true coral or more of a pink??

Does anyone know what today's sale item is? I don't have access to FB at work, and I'm curious what it is. I was able to get the Morgan tote in Mediteranean Blue, yesterday's special, first thing this morning before it went away.

I just returned from my trip to Phoenix, and I just wanted to follow up with the whole carry-on bag situation.

I used the Large Duffel for my overhead bag and my Get Carried Away tote for my under the seat bag. I was able to fit everything for a four-day trip {with room to spare}, including my pillow, which I always bring because I can’t sleep on a big fluffy pillow. If it weren’t for the pillow, I’m convinced I could have packed enough for a week.

I was on four different planes – 2 each way. On three planes, both bags fit perfectly right where I wanted them to be. The duffel fit in the overhead no problem, and the Get Carried Away bag fit under my seat every time. However, on my fourth plane, a very small plane from Minneapolis to Duluth, I ran into an issue of VERY small overhead bins – the smallest I’ve ever seen! I don’t think my son’s school backpack could have fit in there! So of course my duffel didn’t fit, but the Get Carried Away bag did. I was really worried about having to gate-check my duffel because I didn’t want it to get ruined, but amazingly, it fit under the seat in front of me! I was very happy about that!!

I did have one problem that made me re-think the whole situation. Each bag was only about 17-20 pounds, so they didn’t seem too heavy at first, until I had to find my gate in Minneapolis, which seemed to be about a mile away. My neck and side was starting to cramp up, and my lower back was threatening to lock up, which I often have trouble with. When we arrived at the gate, we learned the unfortunate news that the gate had been changed (lesson learned – check the screens before you start walking!!), and we had to walk almost as far back the way we came. And we only had 50 minutes between flights! We were almost last to board, and my aunt had to gate check her rolling suitcase because there was no more room in the overheads for them. I was still able to find room for my duffel though.

So long story short, I survived, and saved myself $46 in bag fees by not checking a bag. But it was brutal trying to get through the MSP airport, so if you have an airport where you might have to get to a gate that’s far away, especially in a short amount of time, it might be too much to use both the Large Duffel and the Get Carried Away as carry-on bags. But if you can handle it, it really worked great!

Thankfully, I’ve already booked a flight with Southwest for my 10-day Disney trip in August, so I don’t have top worry about bag fees this time! I think I will use the Get Carried Away tote for my carry-on. It’s plenty big to fit everything, but by itself, it’s not too heavy. I also like that it’s got ten (?) different pockets to keep me organized, and you have the option to have the top zip shut or be completely open, since it has a zipper like a jacket that comes apart at the end! :thumbsup2

My name is Melissa and I am a Vera addict!

I ordered the Call Me Coral flip flops today!! I am so excited. These were going to be for my birthday (late July), but I really couldn't wait that long!!

I also got a Maggie for the one day sale price of $19 - I kind of think it's too small for me, but I figured that I'd give it a try since it was a cheap sale. I got Cupcakes Green & also a clip-zip id in CG to match.

Finally I threw the mini-cooler in there too - in Bali Gold, it just looked so fun for summer.

I am excited for some of the new items coming out soon - especially the umbrella!!

and btw- I saw someone on FB list out the names of the Fall 2010 colors. They will be: Very Berry Paisley, Slate Blooms, Hello Dahlia, and Barcelona. I don't know what they look like, but I heard they come out in June.

Happy Vera-ing to y'all!

Would someone please tell me if there is much difference between the Mailbag and the regular hipster? I would like to carry my bag into WDW. I would like to carry my camera that is thicker like an old 35mm type, water, larger sunscreen, and a few snacks? i dont think I want to carry the backpack all day. Which would you do? VB is a new addiction for me.

I forgot to ask about the sleek wallet would it hold a blackberry? the picture on the website makes it really hard to see where your phone would go.
Thanks

Mailbag is larger than the hipster and has a huge flap that covers the entire front of it with a zip pocket whereas the Hipster has to front pocket that has it's own little flap and a zipper top with no flap.

Hipster dims: 10 ½" x 11" x 1 ¼" –53 ½" adjustable strap

Mailbag dims: 11" x 11½" x 1¾" –50" adjustable strap

Does anyone here own a Molly or Lola style purse? I like their look from eBay pictures.

The Fall '10 colors come out in July I believe. The store we have here had them in earlier as a test for a couple weeks so I saw them. VBP is going to be very popular. As you can guess by the name, it's a paisley pattern with magentas, greens, and purples. Very cute. Slate Blooms is kind of the same color scheme as Java Blue, maybe a little more muted though. I liked this one too. Hello Dahlia is kind of a cream colored background with large flowers in pinks and reds. I really did not like Barcelona at all. If you remember the old Medallion pattern it's kind of similar to that I guess, but black and white.

I have a Molly! It is super cute but it is a little on the small side.

So I was in a store yesterday where all the vera was on sale, not just certain patterns, everything.
all 20% off, and they have a huge selection.
I am kind of stuck on that black microfiber satchel.
its $90, its more for fall winter I think, but I also want a color me coral pleated tote.......hmmmm decisions decisions.
might just have to get both, LOL

Just wondering if anyone has ever used the Super Tote as their tote bag on the plane, in addition to their carry on? I usually use the Vera tote and my carry on but just bought the Super Tote. I need to pack more this time and was hoping to avoid paying to check a bag if possible!

Thanks!
