Vera Bradley backpack?

Am ~BRaND nEw to VB~ but saw so many cute bags on our trip last month,
:yay:I want one! :rotfl: prefer not to pay customs for shipping to Canada & it's a bit far to drive to Fort Wayne.

Any VB in Orlando? Outlets? TIA. :flower3:

The VB website has a store locator so you can see what they have in/around Orlando.

Anyone going to Dollywood and has a gold seasons pass -- the boutique in the park sells VB and you get a 20% Gold Pass discount.

I recently discovered the Vera Bradley store in our mall and made the unfortunate mistake of taking DD7 in with me. Now she wants one of everything. She's begging me to get her a yellow bird hipster for Disney - she's 7!!! lol

Thanks, that's awesome, lots of stores close to Niagara Falls. :thumbsup2

LOL You've created a monster! :rotfl:

I've contemplated getting both dds (9 & 10) a mini hipster - but there are no patterns cheap enough right now.

I just got the Mesa Red old-style hipster (since it was less expensive), used it yesterday and today on a retreat, and I LOVE IT!

I just bought the new Mailbag style - kind of like the Hipster but just a little bigger. I'm thinking it will be just right for visiting the parks.

I normally carry my Baggalini, and I do love it but now ya all have me looking at these! Anyone have an opinion over the new hipster that is curvier as opposed to the old one? There is one for 20, and the newer style is 25. I like the older one has a red bag, so I am just going by color.....

I personally like the old style hipster better. It's a little smaller (but you probably won't even notice!) and the strap is a bit wider. The strap is also attached in a better way so it lays across your body better, IMO. I also like the slip pocket on the front better (as opposed to the flap snap pocket) because it's easier to stick maps or other things you need quick access to in there.

love the price on the mini hipster but am worried about the strap, it looks so skinny I wonder if it will digg by the afternoon. I am very fluffy and want something with a long strap so I can wear it across by body.

Does anyone have the cargo sling? I think I need more space than the hipster since I'll have a 4y/o & a 1y/o...think diapers, wipes, bottle, extra change of clothes...

Will all of that fit in the hipster? Is the cargo huge? Would I be better off w/ the backpack?

Also, just playing around w/ the site...the 20% code works...free shipping does not. :-(

My mom has a cargo sling for everyday use. Yesterday she said she liked the end pocket for her cell phone, but not the way the bag wanted to 'cave in' in the middle. It did look like it was trying to fold in half, and I don't think she had it overloaded weight wise.

Personally, I would go with the backpack as I find crossbody bags, especially if larger (and heavier) than a mini size, start to press a nerve in my neck and hurt me.

Trekkie, look at the regular hipster in the "old" style. It's only $20 and has a substantial strap and holds more than the mini-hipster. The strap is 55" adjustable. (Mini hipster strap is 59".)

I have used my hipster (same style/color as I recommended above) almost exclusively for the two weeks I've had it and I'm in love! I'll be using it at Darlington this weekend (NASCAR race) so I'll report back on the comfort level of wearing for two days straight.

Got my Mailbag and have carried it for a couple of days........I like the length of the strap and the overall size of the bag. The only thing I don't like is that the flap on the front has a pocket down at the bottom - where it makes sense to me to keep my keys and cell phone. However that makes the flap heavy and floppy, so it's a little harder getting into the bag. I think it will be good for the parks though.......it will be the right size for a water bottle to sit upright in, has lots of little organizer pockets, and has a long enough strap to wear crossbody.

Someone mentioned the Cargo Sling being flopsy in the middle - I had the same experience!! That was my only complaint about it!!

I used my hipster (old style) on our WDW trip this past January. It was perfect! I used to large zip pocket to hold my trip journal, camera, small wallet, sunglasses, gum, cell phone, chapstick....wonderful! It doesn't dig into your shoulder at all and I loved having my hands free. I'll be using it again on our trip in June.

There are some great great prices on Vera retiring patterns. I already have a lot in Peacock. I just ordered the Mini-Hipster for $16, the Lola for $15, and the large bow cosmetic for $15, plus shipping and tax. Here's the link for Peacock sale items. And if you do MyPoints you can get 3pts per dollar going through their portal. (PM if you need a referral link.)

The large backpack (above), normally $92, is $36! I really toyed with buying that bag! But opted for three bags for the same price. =) The regular price on the Lola is $63, and the Mini-Hipster is $45. So I scored some GREAT deals.

Hope someone else is able to take advantage of these prices -- not sure which patterns are on the clearance rack, but when you pick an item (the backpack, for example) you can click the different patterns and the price changes as you go through the list.

I just ordered this backpack. I'm so excited to get it! I hope its not TOO big. Oh well with 3 kids I'm sure I can fill it with kid stuff!

I recently got a Hipster, old style (Dear Dis friend brought it to me at WDW) love it. Now we are going on a VB cross boarder buying trip to Buffalo, lol. I have three stores mapped out and several items that I am interested in. I have stashed away some funds just for VB items, lol.

I am obcessed with VB and now won't buy any other brand of purse or bag. I have 2 large duffle bags, 1 small diffle bag, 1 weekender, 2 hipsters, 2 cosmetic bags, 2 small wallets, 1 large wallet, the diaper bag used as a purse, 1 Miller bag, 1 mailbag, 1 large backpack, 1 small backpack, and 1 backsack, most of which I got as they were retiring and I got them really cheap.

Next month when we go to WDW, I will probably bring several of my bags and decide each day which day I want to use what. I used the large backpack in December at the parks and kept it pretty full most of the day, I want to go lighter in June since it will be so hot. I use my large duffle bags instead of regular luggage and can fit ALOT more in them and they are easier to deal with at the resort.

I am getting my 10 year old cousin the Hannah (her name is Hannah) for her 11th birthday at the end of the month, just waiting for her to decide which fabric she wants.

Check your local Ross, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx, I have heard that you can get some of the retired patterns there very reasonably priced.

I almost forgot to mention that most of the bags can be machined washed and they do so beautifully. My big white cat decided to nap on my large backpack and i was so covered in hair, I couldn't get it off with a lint roller, so I washed it. It looks as good as new and held it's shape and color. I just hung it on a hanger in the bathroom until it was dry, which took a few days since the fabric is thick.
