Has anyone used one of these...or a look alike...when travelling in WDW? I usually wear a backpack type of handbag, but it is leather..or pleather? haha... and it gets too hot. Also, I remember seeing a Vera Bradley-ish bag at one of the DisneyWorld stores a while back. Anyone have one of those or know where you can get one?
THANKS

I love my VB backpacks for traveling to WDW. I always bring them when I fly. They are very lightweight! I prefer to tour the parks with a smaller VB such as the wallet on a strap or the mini hipster. You can find them in many shops or online @ verabradley.com or on ebay. :)

I love my Vera Bradley bags. I have several (5) of them including a backpack. It is great and lightweight and washable when you get home. My only suggestion would be to not get one with a dark lining. It makes it really hard to find things inside. Have a great trip!

There are some great great prices on Vera retiring patterns. I already have a lot in Peacock. I just ordered the Mini-Hipster for $16, the Lola for $15, and the large bow cosmetic for $15, plus shipping and tax. Here's the link for Peacock sale items. And if you do MyPoints you can get 3pts per dollar going through their portal. (PM if you need a referral link.)

The large backpack (above), normally $92, is $36! I really toyed with buying that bag! But opted for three bags for the same price. =) The regular price on the Lola is $63, and the Mini-Hipster is $45. So I scored some GREAT deals.

Hope someone else is able to take advantage of these prices -- not sure which patterns are on the clearance rack, but when you pick an item (the backpack, for example) you can click the different patterns and the price changes as you go through the list.

Which pattern did you order? I may end up getting the backpack anyway ... decisions ... I own a thousand other bags of various makes and models already, and I'm still looking for the perfect theme park bag. What's one more!

I got back 4/5 after 10 days at The World. I saw Vera Bradley backpacks and hipsters everywhere! Only saw a couple of Baggallini Messengers though. :scratchin

I carried the hipster in the parks with me when we went to Disney last October. I would have to say that it is now my all time favorite bag! I love how I can carry it cross over style, and my hands are always free to do what ever I need (even at home I can grocery shop and carry in groceries while carrying in my purse).

I used the outside zip pocket (I carry the old style hipster) to carry my cash/wallet. I used the front slip pocket to carry our park maps (easy quick access, right at my side). The large zip pocket carried our water bottle, and a small plastic zippered pouch that had our ADRs on it and anything else we wanted to keep dry. I also had a carabiner clip attached to the outside of my strap with a small bottle of sunscreen and antibacterial cleanser.

I love the fact that this bag is deep and narrow, you can fit a lot into it. I also love that it carries so easily as a cross over bag - because I had no back pain. Another advantage to this bag - since it does carry cross over style is that I never had to take it off on any of the rides (including EE, Splash, and BTMRR). The only ride I did remove it on was Kali River Rapids (the bag is NOT waterproof).

Fantastic bag! I carry it in 3 colors... Capri blue (retired), Pink Elephants (retired), and Daisy Daisy. I have my eye on 3 other colors... ;) I am always getting compliments on it...

Also, as long as I'm recommending, I highly recommend the zip ID wallet - perfect size for your ID, and a few credit/debit cards and cash. I only have this in one color - and I transfer it from purse to purse - it is $10 regular price. I really need to splurge and get it in another color.

Ebags sometimes has some good deals, I was able to get my Daisy Daisy hipster for $20 with free shipping at the end of last summer. Otherwise, Vera Bradly has decent sales too - but rarely offer codes or free shipping. VB obviously has the best selection.

Anyways, I thought I'd include a few photos of me actually carrying the bag, so you can have an idea about size/fit. I am not a small person, by any means, but I am short (5'3")... but the strap is completely adjustable. In all of these photos, I am wearing my Daisy Daisy hipster - as it was the only one I brought with to the parks. Again, it is in the old retired style, and NLA.

I have an older style VB backpack that has a drawstring instead of a zipper, and I'd recommend the one with the zipper. I always think I'll lose something on a ride unless my bag zips closed. That said, I have the VB Cargo. It looks a lot like the Hipster but it's a little bigger.

I bought the large BP for my trip last year and ended up getting the navy paisley one so my husband didn't mind carring it once in a while. We loved it and it held alot and was comfortable to wear. Good Luck!

If anyone comes across free shipping codes for the Vera Bradley website, please post them here. (I checked RetailMeNot but there's nothing current). I want to order more sale stuff but would rather not pay for shipping!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my VB backpack for the parks. We use the side pockets for sunglasses (mine and dd's). I have the hipster and mini-hipster. Like the mini-hipster for night because of the sunglass thing. (Plus, in the summertime, for ponchos.)

BTW, I saw a lady walking around with a knock-off. One strap was broken, and as we watched, the other strap broke.

Does anyone have the cargo sling? I think I need more space than the hipster since I'll have a 4y/o & a 1y/o...think diapers, wipes, bottle, extra change of clothes...

Will all of that fit in the hipster? Is the cargo huge? Would I be better off w/ the backpack?

Also, just playing around w/ the site...the 20% code works...free shipping does not. :-(

20% works out to free shipping on $40+ orders I think. (S&H starts at $8 and goes to $10, $13, $15, $18).

My order I placed a few days ago arrived today and I was pleased with the packaging, it's very posh. Mine was shipped via FedEx Home 5-7 day service.

On the sizing, each bag has its dimensions listed on the VB website. That helped me a lot when I was browsing. One purse caught my eye, but it's only about 4"x6"! Postcard sized!

FYI for anyone that lives relatively close to Fort Wayne, Indiana (Vera Bradley's homebase)... April 29-May 3 Vera Bradley is holding it's Spring Outlet Sale. You get HUGE discounts on recently retired, just announced retirements and prints they plan to retire later in the year. Last year my mom and I went and I bought a bunch of stuff... small duffle, purse, curvy tote, travel wallet, multiple cosmetic bags, a mini zip wallet, betsy... and I spent about $105. It was ridiculous! My luggage is red so I stocked up on a lot of Mesa Red (because a little birdie had told me they were announcing retirement in June '08). It was great!

We live in Detroit and it was definitely worth the 2.5 hour drive to take advantage of the deals! You have to register in advance...but there's a link on the front page of the Vera Bradley site. Five bucks, I think.

My order came to $73.00, but still had to pay shipping.

Great deals, so it was still worth paying shipping. Just bought all my gifts for Mother's Day and some christmas gifts as well.
