Vent - dog adoption

And this girl is young. What happens if she wants to go get a drink after work? Will Mom let Boxer out?

Or if she spends the night somewhere?

Yup, your right, she does spent the night places, and she goes out after work. Its ridiculous, but you know young girls, they know everything.
As I was explaining my BIL's setup, she was explaining the bedroom scenario, um HELLO? Listen to yourself.......acre in Colorado to run around, another boxer to play with, large home(also forgot to mention second home in Mexico in previous post), stay at home owner vs a bedroom in a apartment, left alone for hours, walks when convenient, not sure of future plans.

But as long as it stays in NC, thats the important part.

My friend's boxer is a year old and still thinks it's a baby. It's one big baby. Everyone I've ever know who has had a boxer has loved them, but said they are VERY high energy and they need to "get it out." If that dog does not have something positive to do with all that energy, the girl may come home to a shredded bed or something. I agree, the girl sounds as if she does not know what she's getting herself into with the dog. You can't lock a dog like that up in a bedroom all day and part of the night. You just can't. Not smart.....or kind.

Last week one the of the clients of a girl I work with told us her friend is looking to get rid of her dog (purebred 2 year old boxer) because her son is allergic.

I just want to know what people are thinking?

Get the name and phone number of this person and talk with them directly!

Dogs need friendship, walks, nourishing food and routine vet care, all things I'm sure your brother will be able to provide without question!

When I adopted my dogs I always had to pay an adoption fee. Is she getting any money from this girl for the dog???? If not have your BIL offer some $$$Cash$$$ to adopt him??? She may rethink this, money talks
Also, if the girl does give the dog to her friend and it doesn't work out maybe your BIL could still take the dog, I adopted my cavalier from Nebraska and had her flown to me and it didn't cost that much, (just a thought).. I hope it all works out best for the dog.

DisneyStacy, I mean no disrepect but I find the timing of this post to funny. A couple of post down people are saying how evil it is to keep dogs outside, and now your post is saying it's wrong to keep the dog inside, Once again no disrespect just funny timing of each post.

I didn't read in the original post that it was evil to keep a dog inside. I think it is wrong to keep a dog the size of a boxer locked in an apartment sized bedroom all day. Those dogs need exercise and need to be able to move around. It's a recipe for disaster if a dog is locked in a room like that.

I know this isn't through a shelter, but the outside one was, but I don't think most shelters would be okay if a potential family told them that they were going to lock a dog in a room all day.
