All of my kids have Webkinz accounts. They have been doing this for a couple of years but don't play every day. They are not allowed video games on school days but I do occasionally play for them to earn them money.
Webkinz has instituted a new part of their game. Your webkinz will lose health, hunger, and happiness points for each day you don't play online. It starts to go slow at first but once it hits around 66, it goes much faster. They don't die but will not play well unless you get them back up to healthy again. Which as my DD told me is $500 kinzcash for each one at the spa to get healthy plus $300-$400 of food for each to not be hungry anymore. With 40 webkinz that are down that much, it would take all of her money plus some !! I loved the idea that they didn't die (technically they don't die they just get unhappy and unhealthy) as long as you put them to bed before you logged out.
I am not going to spend my time logging in every day just so they are full and happy. This means if you go away for vacation for a week and don't log in, then it will cost you tons of Kinzcash to get all the pets back up again. I thought they even used to advertise that you didn't have to worry. Just put them to bed and let them sleep and they'll be happy.
This really makes me mad. My DD does not want all her pets so low in points but does not want to spend all of her hard earned money on healing them all either. She said it will take something like $46,000 to fix all of her. She took the total cost of completely reviving one and multiplied by the number of pets she has.
First they give us these neat things to play with and now they change the rules!!! I'm going to suggest my kids let all of theirs go to 0 and not worry about it but I did call Ganz and they said it was a "new feature" but they would report my dislike to management. Ugh !!
