Vegetarian at Disney?

That sounds yummy! I love BBQ sauce Glad to know i'm not the only one who gets so excited, i've got a countdown on my phone, makes my friends roll their eyes!

I have one on my computer (well iGoogle). It has the days, hours, mins and secs.

Hi! My mom and I are off to Disney in a couple of months and I was wondering what the food is like for those of us that dont eat eat? I'm meat intolerant...

I misread this as "My mom and I are off to Disney *for* a couple of months..." ;-).

I'm a vegetarian myself and love Rancho del Zocalo (Frontierland). The taco plate is very tasty and filling. As others have mentioned, the beans are veggie .

Blue Bayou is also nice for veggies although a little pricey for what you get. I typically order a portabello dish on rice noodles. It's tasty but runs around $30. It would be more fairly priced at around $14.95. But then you're paying for ambiance. It's definitely worth one trip. You can wave at folks in their POTC boats as they sail by.

Storytellers (outside of the park at Grand Californian) is very accommodating. When we told the waitress that we were veggie and didn't eat sugar, the chef came out and spoke with us personally. He made us a very tasty vegan stir fry.

Veggie Ragout at Cafe Orleans

Veggie gumbo at Royal Street Verandah

Veggie skewers with Tiger Tails at Bengal BBQ

Corn on the cob from the stand in Fantasyland (forgot the name!)

Baked potato at Troubadour Tavern

Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at Hungry Bear (sans sauce)


Veggie dishes I love at DCA:

Bruschetta at the Al Fresco lounge with a glass of wine

Spaghetti sans meatballs or cheese ravioli at Boardwalk Pasta

Tofu platter with rice pilaf and cucumber salad at Garden Grill

Spinach and artichoke dip at Cove Bar (double check this is still veggie)

Tofu rice bowl at Lucky Fortune is pretty good (could be much spicier!)


At the Resort Area:

Chinese long beans at Trader Sam's and a nice drink

Ask at Napa Rose what the chef can do for a vegetarian and be amazed!

I like the veggie soup and market greens salad at Storyteller's

I miss the old Portebello dish with the garlic mashed potatoes (you had to make sure you told them you were veg to avoid the stock in the potatoes). It was so tasty.

Oh I wish it was for months!! It takes us so long to fly there, usually 14 hours but 39hours this time because we are going via London it would be worth staying for months I'll definitely check out the rancho del zocalo, we've never eaten there so will give it a try, thanks!

The veggie option at Big Thunder Randy BBQ is pretty tasty. It takes a little longer to come out than the pot-o-meat, but it was yummy. It is skewers with potatoes, tofu, and veggies with BBQ sauce on it. I really liked it last year and I will be having it again a week from Sunday!!

And it it totally okay to be excited about eating at Disneyland. I am every year!!

And, all of the sides are vegetarian! Even the beans have no pork or other meat products.
