We have yet to watch any of the films around WS. I believe they are at Canada, France and China... right? Did I miss any? Anyways, if we were going to go to only one, which would you suggest? I've heard that some do not have seats, you must stand the whole time. Is this correct? We will have a 4 yr old and 1 yr old, so keep that in mind when making your suggestions. Or should we skip all of the films with children that age in tow?

Of those listed, only France has seats. Additionally, American Adventure has a combination animatronics/film presentation, with seats. I would think that probably seats would be a good recommendation, but sure not able to say how the little ones might do.

We spend a LOT of time in World Showcase. My favorite films, in order are:

China
France
America
Canada

But that's an adult with teenaged children's opinion.

The America film does have some animatronic figures (sort of like Hall of Presidents) that come out between parts of the film. That could hold the children's interest more than just a movie.

I like the China film the best because I'm always amazed at how varied China is. But there isn't much action in that movie, so the kids would probably get bored quickly (and it's standing only).

The Canadian film comes across the most dated to me, probably because it has a lot of people in it, and it's obvious it was filmed in the early 80s. The American film is mostly historical, and the other two films have way more scenery than people.

I'd suggest taking the films in at nap time, and doing only the films with seats. Maybe your little ones will catch a quick rest while you're off your feet.

I forgot to mention Norway has a short film also. It has seats (fairly uncomfortable, but seats). It's more a tourism film though. I've only seen it once, since I usually walk through after getting off Maelstrom. If you really want to see it, you can go through the exit. I wouldn't suggest Maelstrom with young kids. Those trolls are scary!

what?!? no mention of norway? it has seats too.

I think some people prefer to call them "hurdles". ;)

Actually, the only time I did go on Maelstrom I wanted to see the movie but they weren't showing it because it was EMH. :(

Didn't Morocco have a filmstrip?

(I know, it's not a film, and if my memories are correct - it's not something you'd want to take your little ones too.)

We like how China and Canada are 360 degrees. It's really neat. Now DF wants to visit China. :teeth: I know this sounds bad, but both times we went into American Adventure we fell asleep. Arg. I really made an attempt last time to watch because I keep hearing how good it is, but we somehow manage to nod off. Maybe it's the combination of being in the heat and then a nice air conditioned theatre? I don't know, but I WILL see it eventually! Norway's we usually bypass (we feel bad, but we always start in Mexico, then Norway and we're anxious to see the rest of the countries). Never saw France either, but want to this trip! :)

I love the film in France. I don't think it has been updated since 1982, but the scenery is beautiful, and the music is the best part.

The only film I like is in the American Adventure. We always took the kids in when they were little and they would drop right off to sleep - it is kind of long, dark and nice theatre seats (not just a bench) - I love the program too. Always get a tear in my eye at the end. VERY patriotic.

I don't care for the music in the Chinese film, saw the French one once and don't remember it at all. We've watched Norway's a couple of times (DH likes that one) and saw Canada's once -too crowded, and a stander I think.

Go for the American one - kids can learn a little about US history before nodding off, and there is a lot of great music and the animatronics are great - from Abe Lincoln & other presidents to Mark Twain to Will Rogers twirling his rope. The pre-show in the atrium is very nice too. We've missed AA the last couple of trips, so it's on my hit list for the summer.

France has seats too. France and America are set up like an old fashioned movie theater. Plush seats, with a stage in front of you. France has a "pretend" balcony above you.

That's why it's so easy to drift off to sleep in them!

The Norway theater are those blonde wood straight back chairs. I can't remember if the seats are cusioned, but I think they are.

Impresions de France is, IMO, the best of the films. Add that it does have seats for a good rest and it is my choice, hands down.

We haven't seen the France or Canada films yet, but will definitely catch them next trip.

We love the American Adventure, really like "Reflections of China" in the 360, and like the Norway film, too.
