Is luggage storage available at Vancouver port? We don't want to take all of our luggage on the cruise with us. Thanks!

I know there is luggage storage when you get off the ship if you are touring and have a late flight. Not sure if they would hold it for a week.

With the higher beds, it is very easy to store luggage under.

Do you know how much they charge to store luggage for 6 hours or so after getting off the cruise?

When we did the Alaskan cruise, we stayed at the Pan Pacific right at the port the night before. We has the evening Amtrak to Seattle the day we disembarked. The Pan Pacific held our bag with no charge until we we ready to go to the train station.

This is our situation, we are taking Amtrak about dinner time the day we get off the cruise.
We are staying at Fairmont Pacific Rim the night before getting on the cruise. I was assuming they would not hold our bags because our stay is a week prior to the day we need the bags held.. Mmmm.. I will shoot an email to Fairmont to ask.

I think it's easier and cheaper to just put it under the bed. Unlike a plane..... cruise ships are floating hotels and don't have weight limits.

CDS Baggage does offer a service at the cruise terminal last year. $7 for carry-on's and $8 for regular. I'm not sure if these are for overight storage or just the day for post-cruise. $40 for four bag transfers to the airport/hotels.

Here's a link to CDS baggage. We're going to be using them to take our baggage from the cruise terminal to the airport on debarkation day so that we can sight see: http://www.cdsbaggage.ca I know that service is $40 (CAD) for up to 4 bags.

never thought about them taking the bags for us to the airport. might be really helpful since i'm with two small kids and my older parents. i wonder how this works- how you get your luggage at the airport... we have some time to kill after debarkation so maybe we could take the train to the airport. my daughter loves trains.

They have an office at the cruise terminal, you drop them off and pay them, then you go to one of the CDS baggage office at the airport. According to their website they have two locations. Presumably when you drop off your bags at the office in the cruise terminal, you will select your preference:

International Terminal Building at YVR
International Arrivals Level 2, past Tim Hortons by the washrooms
Hours: 05:00 AM - 01:00 AM
Phone: 604-303-4500

Domestic Terminal Building at YVR
Domestic Arrivals level 2, across form carousel 6
Hours: 05:00 AM - 11:00 PM
Phone: 604-303-4519

It says that both at the airport and the cruise terminal they offer storage as well. Here's the information for the Canada Place location:

We have one seasonal location right in Canada Place on the cruise terminal level. Operating May until the end of September with both storage and YVR baggage transfers available

We are located between the information counter and the car rentals right in the cruise terminal

Hours: 07:30 AM - 4:30 PM closed Tuesday/Thursday

$40 for 4 bags is the same price as one way cab fare to the airport. CDS baggage is at international arrivals... grab your luggage.... elevator up and you are near US departures.

Take the subway to the airport to catch your flight. Airport return means you losing over an hour of sightseeing time downtown. If you daughter likes trains.... go to Stanley Park to check out the mini-train to warm up her up to the subway.

Is CDS baggage far from canada departures?

We definitely won't be doing airport return since we have so much time before our flight. We also move a little slow with our group so we can take our time with the subway. thanks for the tip about Stanley Park's train. We are in Vancouver 5 days before the cruise- and it looks like we might just move into Stanley Park - amazing how much there is to see and do. i can not wait!
