Just asking for pointers and opinions. It will be myself and my daughter ( she will be 17 at time of trip ).
We have stayed at the following
CBR-2006
POP-2004
POFQ-2000

We didnt like CBR , my daughter really liked POP and she doesnt remember POFQ. Is it really worth the difference in expense just for the two of us? The idea of having a larger room, coffee pot and frig appeals to me but, I think it's like $500 more for our trip and I'm trying to decide if it is worth it. From what I have read and remember, POP has a great food court and their own bus. Dont remember too much about POFQ but remembered that everyone was nice ( my daughter was very sick during our stay at that time so,I remember the trip to urgent care quite well).

Any input, suggestions are much apprecitated. Traveling solo with a teenage girl, I want to try and make it as age appropriate for her as well. Thank you

I was there this past spring with my DD17. We have stayed at both POFQ and POP. We stayed at POP because it was just the two of us and I was keeping it to a budget. I have to say that we loved POP so much that if we were to do another trip with just the two of us I would go there in a heartbeat. I still think they have the best food court of any of the resorts we have stayed at. We even plan to try to get over there again to eat when we are down there in December so I can have their fried chicken!

We have stayed at both POFQ and POP (as well as CSR).
We much prefered POP over POFQ.
We have stayed at POP the past 4 trips and have had wonderful stays. The food court is the best, the bus system was excellent, rooms immaculate and the CM's were fabulous.
POFQ was quaint and we enjoyed the boat to DTD - but for us, it lacked the Disney feel to it.

The only reason we are moving to a Deluxe from POP is because our family has outgrown the rooms POP and the high energy level of the resort - we have 2 kiddos and we need more space and quiet. We have done the commando style touring of the Parks for years and are ready to spend some time relaxing on our vacation (hard to believe;)).
We don't feel the extra money spent on Mods are worth it - but we think the extra money for a Deluxe is worth it because of the amenities, space and Dining options for our family...But with just 2 people, I think POP will allow you more than enough room to be comfortable.

If budget isn't an issue for you I would go to POFQ. It is my favorite Moderate. It is small, well themed, everything is nearby and the buses are great. You have already stated that you would enjoy (as would I) the refrigerator at the Moderate.
POFQ has a nice boat to DTD, which would be fun one evening for the 2 of you.
Whichever, Have a great trip

I go with my daughter (now 27) once or twice a year. Sometimes my younger dd 21 can join us too. We much prefer the mods. The theming, beautiful landscapping, and quieter atmosphere.

What did't you like about CBR? We thought it was very pretty. Love those hammocks on the beach.

POR-Riverside is our fav. mod- boat to DTD, evening entertainment in the lounge, and beautiful landscapping. We like the mansion section.

Worth the extra for me.

We stayed at a value when our kids were 10 and 12. They hated it and we hated it. We now travel without kids and we have skipped a year if we were straining our budget to stay at a moderate as we refuse to stay at a value. This is not to say there is anything especially wrong with the values, but they just don't fit our vacation style (too busy, too noisy and way too crowded). Queen beds are a HUGE deal breaker for us too.

We've only stayed at the Coronado (CSR), but we have visited all of the other moderates. If the CSR were not available, we would pick in this order: POR-Riverside, POFQ and CBR would be a last resort.

POFQ gets my vote. For a more adults trip I would def pick it over POP (for us).

However if you'd stayed at POP in the past and were happy, since it's just the two of you, I wouldn't think the added space of a mod would make that much of a difference. You can do a LOT with $500 maybe book something special that you wouldn't normally do and still have $$ left over.

Enjoy your trip! I hope my DD and I can do a trip like that one day. :goodvibes

dont know how long your trip is but we have in th past split up our trip. What about staying 4 nights at Pop and then moving to POFQ. We done it before and love it. We stayed at ASmusic for our first 5 nights and went to the parks all day everyday. Them moved to POFQ and relaxed. One day just stayed by the pool and then dinner at DTD, the nexy half day at MK and went swimming, and the rest of the trip we just did what ever we wanted. It was nice because we got the parks out of our system, so to speak, and didn't feel like had to rush to the park. even though we went most days.
just a suggestion. Have fun!
:yay:

My $.02....you kind of answered your own question....POP and keep the $500....Hey It's Disney....Yuo will enjoy it no matter where you stay!

This is what I was thinking as well. You can always rent a mini fridge at Pop and either bring or ship your own small coffee pot to the resort and still save hundreds of dollars. I think for just the two of you Pop would be nice since you've stayed there before and liked it.

We've only stayed at Mods (CSR three times, CBR once). We went during busy (Veteran's Day Week/Jersey Week) and very busy (President's Day Week) weeks but found the resorts to be quiet and peaceful. That peace and quiet is welcome after a long day at the parks. The slightly larger rooms and queen size beds have been great as our kids got older.

We had stayed at Both Value and Mod.
We love Port Orleans French Quarters it a great small quiet resort.
We stayed at Pop this year we also will go back to pop again. We liked both. We travel with 6 of us my niece, myself, my sister, brother in-law, father and my mother. We All like both resort and wouldn't mind doing either resort again.
