Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

Wooow, what an incredible dinner at Palo! I think it's really cool that you get a pallette cleanser.

Oy...that Mr.Know it all sounds SOOOOO annoying. Was he seated at your table throughout the whole cruise? Was this wife silent the whole time or did she seem annoyed too?

I remember visiting The Atlantic on my RCCL cruise too! I had no idea you coul drive to the hotel. My family and I took a little boat ride over and it was a lot of fun! We didn't do any of the cruise excursions cause they were really pricey. The boat ride to and from only cost us each $5. It would have been nice to have a guide, but we had a great time exploring the hotel and aquarium on our own. It's such a beautiful hotel.

Toy Story the Musical? Wow. That sounds like a lot of fun. The Golden Mickeys sound AWESOME. I can't wait to be able to watch that some day.

Palo is wonderful and just the kind of food we really enjoy!

You are seated with the same people for all of your dinners. The servers move from restaurant to restaurant with you. Mr. Know It All was REALLY annoying and his wife "looked up to her master". :rotfl2: She just nodded to whatever he said. :lmao:
We only saw him one more time for the last dinner of that cruise and since English is not our first language, we can always pretend we do not understand! ;)

The Atlantis was nice, but it was such a hot day and I was DONE after half of it!

All the Musicals on board are wonderful. I LOVED Disney Dreams the most! It was just magical! :thumbsup2

The meal looks fabulous. I am kind of thinking of giving Palo a try next time...and there will be a next time! LOL!
I just have to figure when, as I don't ever want to miss the restuarants as well. I'm sure I can work it in! ;)

You need to take a 4 day cruise, Jen, so you get a day at sea and can try Brunch or High Tea too! ;)
I am SO happy we get to stay on the DREAM for 11 nights, so we can try all the restaurants at least twice, get to try the Pirate Dinner and have dinner at Palo!

Mmmm the ever famous Palo review! Looks just as great as ever! :thumbsup2

We so enjoy our dinners there - fab service, fab view, fab food! What else can you want? :goodvibes

Now I want to take Disney Cruise just so I can eat at Palo! It looks soooo good!

Abby, you HAVE to take a Disney Cruise - they are wonderful and Palo is waiting there for you! The food is very good and the servers are quite cute! :rotfl2:

HAHAHA :rotfl2:

Okay, I tried to post here last night but it was too late, and the DIS wasn't working. :headache:

Your Palo dinner looks wonderful! The Toy Story show wasn't our fav - I thought it was cute, but Jim didn't really care for it. I'm glad you liked it, even if you had little fans out of control!:thumbsup2

Hi Karin, We want to try Palo for dinner on our next cruise. Do they have non-alcoholic specialty drinks? I will be making our reservations next week for our cruise, I hope we can get the brunch scheduled too.

Cute servers too? Ok, I'm sold!
:rotfl:

I knew I could get you with that! ;) :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 :lmao:

I very often have a problem posting when I try in the morning (my morning  remember I am 9 hours ahead of you!)

We really enjoyed ALL our Palo experiences, but it may all be influenced by Oliver, our cute Australian server! ;) He got into the habit of talking very fast and we didn't catch everything he said, but the way he said it, was just cute! :rotfl2:

If I would have to rate the shows, I would have to say that Disney Dreams is my favourite show. Such a tear quencher! :lmao:
I just love it when Tinkerbell dusts the ship with pixiedust! :goodvibes
Second favourite would be the Golden Mickeys, followed by Toy Story. It was just faszinating what kind of a performance they were able to pull off at sea. :thumbsup2

As for shows, we take every excuse to be able to order a drink with an umbrella and a cherry in it! :rotfl2:

Palo looks so yummy and that soufflé looks devine!

Their souffle is so good! We really enjoyed it and it is a REAL souffle, not a "half baked muffin" as they served one evening! ;) :goodvibes

I am pretty sure you can get a non alcoholic speciality drink at Palo, Teri! I don't usually drink, but I remember I had A LOT of those yummy drinks while on board! :lmao:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you so you will get your Palo brunch. I could not get one for the first one of our cruises, but I booked High Tea instead. Tom and I had a look at the photos and the menu and while the food looks inviting I didn't see any tea that tickled my fancy. So I ordered some special tea from Fortnum and Mason in London (via my aunt there! :rotfl2:) to bring with me!
I wonder what they will have to say about that.
Whoops, got side tracked. Book brunch first and do it right at midnight! I did so for the second one of our 4 day cruises and scored it.
I even got us cabanas for every one of our cruises! :yay: We are not sure if we want to keep them all, but for the moment I hold on to them! :thumbsup2

Day 14, August 27

Getting to see The Atlantis, Palo and Pirates IN the Caribbean …. Arrrgghhhhhh - Part 5

We finished our dinner just in time for the Pirate Party and the fireworks!

So we hurried down to our stateroom and changed into some more comfortable clothes.

It was fun to find a towel elephant on our beds this time.

Then it was time to hit the top deck and find a spot to watch the party.

but finally there was Pirate Mickey to the rescue.

Right after he had his grand entrance the fireworks started and I looked around if there were any other cruise ships close by. And yes, there was at least one very close to ours.

Once the fireworks were over we walked down to the onboard shops

and browsed and shopped a little before we finally went back to our stateroom for a little rest. We needed to get up early the next day – Castaway Cay was calling our name.

The pirate party is different on the Dream. I would love to see the old version.

Great update! :thumbsup2

That towel animal is too cute! Definitely one of the best I've seen.

The deck party looks like so much fun! And the fireworks are awesome of course. :)

That Goofy shop display is adorable.

Can't wait to hear about Castaway Cay! :yay:

Can't wait to see the one on the DREAM! We loved the WONDER's version of Pirates In the Caribbean Party! :thumbsup2

Lots more towel animals to come! We had a new one every day, our stateroom host, Arturo, was very creative!

We love the deck parties! So much fun to watch!

Castaway Cay update, coming soon! ;) :thumbsup2

Fireworks at sea must be so cool and look awesome :)

Stefy, I read here on the DISboards that other cruise ships "park themselves" very conveniently somewhere close to the Disney ships on Pirate Party (=fireworks) nights as Disney is the only cruise line to be allowed to do fireworks at sea. Low and behold, when I turned and looked back there was another cruise ship and they did NOT seem to move! :rotfl2: :rolleyes1
Disney knows how to throw a party and they always amaze me, no matter how often I have seen something. :thumbsup2

I miss the P&P parties at MK!!!!

Me too, Rosie, me too!

Day 15, August 28

Heaven, your name is Castaway Cay! - Part 1

We didn’t see the sun come up that day, but we were up bright and early. This was the day we had been looking forward to for such a long time, the visit to Castaway Cay. When we walked out onto our verandah we could see Castaway Cay in the distance and we got closer rather quickly.

We watched for quite some time but then we needed to get ready. We had ordered room service breakfast the day before and if we had learned one thing on our first cruise, then it was that when they say 7.30, they MEAN 7.30. :lmao: So we both were showered and ready by 7.30am and at about 7.35 there was a knock at the door and our breakfast arrived.

We had coffee and tea and some toast, a bagel, some cream cheese and butter and jelly. There was also some orange juice and a fresh fruit bowl. We sat down and had a nice continental breakfast before we changed into our swimwear, put on shorts and a T-shirt, got our bags and off we went to deck 1 where everyone disembarked.

We were back in paradise! The sun was shining, the sky was picture-perfect blue and we were within the first people who left the ship.

IMG_6674.jpg

We both picked up a towel and made our way over to the tram stop.

DSC_0962.jpg

Right when we walked up to the stop a tram pulled in and we all got on.

DSC_0966.jpg

During the last year they had made some changes to the island and once we got off the first tram we checked out Pelican Plunge and had a short stroll through the stores.

IMG_6675-1.jpg

But then there was no way we would “waste” one more minute of our Serenity Bay beach time.We headed back to the tram stop and boarded the next tram to Serenity Bay.

Looks like a gorgeous day at Castaway Cay!!! :cloud9:

Is that Jack Sparrow is see in one of the pics? How cute!

We had a wonderful day at Castaway Cay! There is lots more gorgeous photos to come. And YES, that is Captain Jack there on the beach! We thought about getting back in time to have our photo taken with him, but never made it back in time.
Oh well, we have three cruises this summer, maybe we will accomplish it this time!
