Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

That is one of the reasons we had asked for a table for just us. I was afraid of getting a Mr Know it all. I knew Skip would flip out and not want to go back if we did. Mom was happy that I made that request too. I'm sure there are nice people as well, but with my luck we would get someone weird.

I am all caught up! I can only dream of spending that much time at the world - or even of doing a back to back cruise - and trust me, I do dream it :)

Can't wait to hear of your further adventures (and of the next dinners with MR Know it all!).

:woohoo: Yeah, for being caught up! :thumbsup2

I know it sounds like a long time, well actually it is a long time spent at WDW, but with the long flight and plane fare it makes more sense to stay longer if you can. I have a 9 week break in the summer and Tom has 6 weeks paid vacation time, so it works out great for us.
And if you are dreaming of a back to back cruise - we are doing a back to back to back cruise this summer - yes that is 3 cruises in a row or 11 days on the DREAM! Can't wait.
You can check out the planning stages of this trip in my pre-trip report (link to trip reports is in my signature! ;))

Mr Know It All was crossing paths with us more often than just dinner! :rotfl2: But you will have to wait for the next update to find out all about it. ;)

It never occured to me to ask for a table for two. And in the end on the second cruise I found a wonderful friend that way .... Hi, Teri! :goodvibes

The good thing for us is that we speak a foreign language and it is easy to pretend you cannot participate in the dialogue. Mr. Know It All was pretty amazed we did speak pretty good English in the end! :rotfl2:

Hi Karin  It was nice to see the pics of the sail away party, we missed it on our cruise because of the time we spent in the spa with our couples choice experience. (we did see the people waving from the shore from the hot tub:)). We will try to catch it on the Dream next time. We only saw one show, because were having so much fun exploring the Wonerful Wonder. We wouldn't have seen that one if you hadn't told us about the great shows we were missing!

We saw the "indoor" version of it, the first time we sailed, but the atmosphere is SO different if you get to see it on deck! Those CMs do a heck of a job getting you all excited!

I am glad you got to see Disney Dreams! It really goes for one's heartstrings, doesn't it? Hope you are going to have more wonderful experiences this summer! :thumbsup2

We love the Golden Mickeys. Such a fun show and such a nice way to kick off your cruise!
Dinner at Triton's was really good, we didn't like it that much the year before! ;)

Day 14, August 27

Getting to see The Atlantis, Palo and Pirates IN the Caribbean …. Arrrgghhhhhh - Part 1

Yes, we were up early enough to catch a glimpse of the dawn, but we got back into bed after taking a few photos.

About an hour later we pulled into Nassau.

We sat out on the verandah, well we more or less stood on the verandah and watched the ship dock in Nassau.

Then it was time for us to get ready and have some breakfast, as we needed to be ready by 10.30 for our excursion to the Atlantis. We went to Beach Blanket Buffet for breakfast and were amazed at the huge array of breakfast items. We filled our plates and found an outside table to leisurely enjoy our breakfast.

Once we had finished it, we made our way back to the stateroom, picked up all the items needed for the day, or tickets and headed down to our assigned meeting point. The room was full and people there were waiting for several excursions to start but we did manage to get a glimpse of Mr. Know it all and his wife, who obviously had signed up for some tour as well.
Finally we all were divided into the actual tours and got our wristbands and there was Mr. Know it all, coming along with us!

We waved at them when they finally noticed us and tried to steer away from them when while walking down to the bus. Unfortunately they got on the same bus and we could hear him explain that he had been there and done that, to their poor neighbours.

Once the bus got to the Atlantis we all walked over to the Aquarium with our guide.

I can't wait to see your Atlantis pics!! The kids and I are dying to go there. DH doesn't fly, though, so it will have to be a cruise!

We only went to the Aquarium, which was very impressive. But it was SO hot that day that once the tour was over we were on the next bus back to the ship! :rotfl2:
If your DH doesn't fly .... may I recommand a DISNEY cruise?

I have wanted to visit Atlantis since it first opened when I was a teen. Can't wait to see your pictures!

It is beautiful, but as I mentioned before, it was a VERY HOT day and we were just craving shade! :lmao:
Don't think we'll get back this summer, maybe next time. ;) :thumbsup2

You have to decide for yourself, Stefy, but the dolphins will be there before the ship leaves and when you return IF there are any at all - the sailaway party is a sure bet and you would even look really awesome on the dancefloor! :thumbsup2

Thanks, where would you say the best spot is to watch the party? If I didn't want to get down and boogie that is :teeth:

Loving the updates, yummy looking food, esp the lobster :teeth:

Looking forward to more popcorn:

We never made it to Atlantis this trip. I think nexttime I do want to try and get there and take some new shots.

Mmm breakfast looks yummy! I  chocolate Mickey waffles!

Can't wait to hear about your adventures in Atlantis! :thumbsup2

On the Wonder we usually got on to the higher deck, right opposite the huge funnel screen. I am not sure if it will be the same set up on the DREAM, but I let you know when we are there! ;)

The food was outstanding that trip! :cloud9:

This was our second excursion in Nassau. First one was a Sea and See tour, which left some things to be desired! :rotfl2:
Now in 2010 we booked the Atlantis tour and while I really enjoyed the aquarium, I could not wait to get back to the ship.

Mmm breakfast looks yummy! I  chocolate Mickey waffles!

Can't wait to hear about your adventures in Atlantis! :thumbsup2

We really enjoyed the aquarium, but we never made it anywhere else. We walked through some of the shops, but I was just not interested. :lmao:

Getting to see The Atlantis, Palo and Pirates IN the Caribbean …. Arrrgghhhhhh - Part 2

Once the bus got to the Atlantis we all walked over to the Aquarium with our guide.

The different parts of the Aquarium were real interesting,

but it was very hot and the constant in and out of buildings and changing of glasses really got to me and wore me out.

So by the time the tour was over we strolled through the shops for a little longer but even though we could have stayed for much longer we just hit the next bus back to the Wonder.

Once we got there we walked back into Nassau as Tom wanted to find a souvenir at the Bacardi Store for a friend.

DSC_0656.jpg

Well, we didn’t actually find a souvenir, but Tom picked up a bottle of rum to try and we got two rum cakes, which we wanted to try, before we decided if we should get some as presents for friends.

After leisurely walking along the main street

and hitting some of the souvenir stores we made our way back over to the ship.

Getting through customs was a breeze and it didn’t take long and we were able to walk onto OUR ship

via the red carpet.

DSC_0670.jpg

Why do I mention this you ask?

Because the poor passengers on the ship that had docked next to us weren’t as lucky as Disney cruisers! By then it was way past our regular lunch time and we were getting hungry, so we walked up to Goofy’s Galley to get ourselves some lunch.

Ohh, Karin...sadly, I am far far behind but hope to catch up this week!!! ::yes:: Lastest update is fabulous, but even looking at that ship makes me shake with fear!! All I can think of is how BIG it is, how HIGH those decks are and all that very DEEP water!!!

Love the pics pof the Bacardi building. One of my DD's closest friend's father is a retired President of Bacardi - it was a job with very nice benefits ;) (and salary!!). :thumbsup2
