How Back-To-Back Cruises Work With Disney Cruise Line

Any data as to the number of B2B cruisers each cruise?

We did the 10 night on the Magic followed by a 5 night and there were less than 15 people doing both cruises. Might be more people doing B2B on cheaper cruises - the 10 night was an expensive one.

How a B2B works at one port or on one ship does not necessarily mean that is how it will be on a future trip. I’ve been on a bunch and they were all a bit different. Pack your patience and you’ll do well.

Thanks, your post had the info I was looking for on what happens with your luggage if you need to switch rooms. We are doing a B2B on the Destiny in April 2026 but are trying out two different room sizes with our family of five.

We did a B2B in/out of Puerto Rico a few years ago. We treated the "switch day" as a port day and did a local excursion (not Disney). No one says you have to get right back on the ship.

Unless it has changed, if you are changing rooms you have to completely pack up and leave your luggage in your room. They will move it for you.

Would love to do a B2B but probably wouldn't do one on the 3/4 night Bahamas sailings since you'd go to the same ports both times.

We switched cabins in our recent B2B on the Magic this summer. We just told our room attendant our new cabin number and he brought our luggage to our new cabin and gave it to our new room attendant. Seamless. When we got back on the Magic for the second cruise, our luggage was waiting.

Thanks for that info. I've often wondered how frequent this happens, and of course thought of doing B2Bs.

You probably get a lot of people doing a 3 night with a 4 night b2b on the Wish to extend it out to 7 nights. My friends did this in September. Had a 4 night Wish booked and tacked on a 3 night when they dropped the discounted Wish rates.

That is the most popular B2B I would imagine. I'd love to the B2B with the Eastern/Western Caribbean sailings from PC.

Our first B2B was a 10 night Mediterranean cruise/14 night westbound TransAtlantic. I believe (if I recall correctly) there were at least 100+ of us. We were directed to meet in the WDT and were escorted off the ship (after all others were off) and through check in.

We also did a B2B Eastern/Western Caribbean combo. For that one our letter told us to be off the ship by a certain time (sometime after everyone else was off to check in. At check in we were directed to the Concierge waiting area and called to reboard first. I think there were only about 15-20 of us.

I really want to do a B2B someday. But more so I want to do a side by side
Right now the Side by side process needs work. Even spoke to a DCL rep who called me after I sent an email. The system (even how it is supposed to work) is a mess and poorly thought out. The changes they need to make are not hard to do but Disney tends to drag their feet unless they get a ton of complaints

On the med cruise we did in 2023 there were so many who did the EBTA just before it, I think it was 200-300 people. They even had their own Facebook group for talking about B2B stuff.
