Spent the afternoon shopping and the evening packing and relaxing.

Tomorrow we'll try to fit in a bit more parktime before we have to head to the airport at 3pm.

More when we get back home! Lots of fun stories to tell!

Tom and Karin, I know I've been MIA, but I caught up with all your links! It was fun to log on to the last page and see bonus updates from DLP!! Looks like a great time!

I have to say, you eat alot of pizza and danish! :rotfl2: Tom, you chose all the foods I would choose, except the sorbet! :thumbsup2 I love the cheeseburger flatbread at SSR. It was one surprise for me on our last trip. It's fun to see someone else enjoy it, too! I'm enjoying your TR, even though I get a little behind. Looking forward to more.

I am so jealous you get to visit DLRP so easily! I love Disney and I love anything French....so...it's just too perfect for me!

The food looked yummy! You just cannot find bread like they have in Europe here. :sad2:

Can't wait for the next WDW update!

I absolutely the DLRP pictures. Its so interesting to see things that look so familiar but are completely different. I also think its pretty cool that they sell Boursin cheese in France, too! I mean, I know they tell us its French, but that doesn't mean anything.

It looks like there's more Pixar/Toy Story stuff in Paris than there is Orlando....how weird. I know Max would love all that stuff. I wish there were more Pixar things here. :sad2: Someday I might understand their logic.

Can't wait to hear more!

And I cannot believe that we're under the four month mark for our February trip!!!! :cool1:

Looks like you had a blast, loving all the photos :teeth:

We need to find a way to get here for Christmas, the hotels aren't too much of a problem money wise but the Eurostar fares are ridiculous, do you think flying would be a better option?

Welcome home, Karin and Tom! Know you had a fabulous trip - now we're ready to hear all about it - once you catch your breath, of course! :grouphug:

:surfweb: popcorn::

The trees looked beautiful in the overhead view of DLP. I am sure you both had a great time, can't wait to hear about it.:)

Yikes! I am SO far behind here! Can't believe I have nearly two pages of comments to answer! But I am here now, and determined to start getting this thread working again! :goodvibes

Hiya

It does suck getting sick towards the end, but at least it was not during. Feeling better now, although after I got over the flu I got a stomach bug and have only just gotten over that :(

Will be starting the TR soon and will post on the PTR to let everyone know :)

Love that you got a gift for the WPE CM's, so sweet :cutie:

Great update, yay for getting your water shoes :yay:

Driving in WDW must be so easy and convenient, must get our licences! :teeth:

Gonna go pop over to your dining report and catch up on that bad boy, see you over there

Driving in WDW is such a blessing! We did use the buses twice and waiting for the buses was no fun. :lmao:
Plus, having the car gives us the opportunity to go to Krispy Kreme, whenever it tickles our fancy!

Know you are having fun at DLPR right now, but somehow missed this post and wanted to be sure to catch up. ::yes::

How did I not know of your Dining review?? :confused3 Will definitely find it now. :)

What a scare to think your Feb trip might not have been possible! I would LOVE to go that time of yr and see you and Tom (not a solo disney traveler so would hope to find a friend to come along...for me WDW is not fun alone),:goodvibes but one of my dearest friends is thinking about a visit here almost exactly those dates - Feb 21 - 26. If she does come down, we are going to drive to Savannah for a 3 ngt visit - she usually visits in the summer, but summer is awful in Savannah - if possible, even more hot and humid than Disney.:sunny:

Fingers corrsed for a great AP rate - which moid will you move to? FQ is in the midst of a complete refurb - bathrooms and all - that might be nice.:thumbsup2

Off to check out your dining review! Can't wait to hear all about DLPR. :teeth:

Got your email and am going to reply to it tomorrow - it is 10 to 11pm here and I guess it will be time for bed soon!
Yeah for going to Savannah - I have seen photos and it must be so beautiful. I hope that one day we will have time to travel north and visit ourselves.

Thanks for hoping for a great AP rate with me! We would love to stay at CSR again as we did last February, but we will be as happy at Pop if it is not going to work out!

Happy Halloween!!!

DLRP looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was an awesome trip - we really enjoyed the few days away from the daily hustle and bustle!

Looks like you are having a great time!

That eclaire looking thing looks yummy!

And I always think the castle looks beautiful there. Very nic pics!

We really did have a wonderful time! We weren't able to ride many things, but just soaking in the atmosphere.
I just love our European castle - it was modelled after 7 real European castles and I guess it shows! ;) It really is very fairytale like!

You would have loved that little bakery, Dave, their desserts were to die for! :goodvibes

:hmghost: Happy Halloween :hmghost:

It is pretty special to us! :cloud9: Our little piece of the USA right in the middle of Europe! I really love the castle - it really is a fairytale castle! :)

Karin!!! It's so great to hear from youuu!!!!

Woooow, Halloween at DLP looks like so much fun!

The pumpkins on those twisted tree branches look scary!

Hi Yuki! I have missed you!

Yes, Halloween at DLRP is a lot of fun. The tree you are referring to is "growing pumpkin men"! :rotfl2:
There's a story about pumpkin evolution - I need to go look for it, so I can post it! :goodvibes

Tom and Karin, I know I've been MIA, but I caught up with all your links! It was fun to log on to the last page and see bonus updates from DLP!! Looks like a great time!

Hi! I do understand about life getting so busy that it's hard to keep up with the DISboards!
Happens to me quite often.

Yip, I LOVE pizza on vacation! We very rarely go out for pizza here, even though we have some amazing Italian restaurants, so whenever we're on vacation and I can get hold of "a good one" I "reward" myself with one. Not so sure about the Danish though! :rotfl2:

Yes, that cheeseburger flatbread is really nice! We got it last year too and were so happy that there was a change from the "regular" CS stuff.
More trip report coming up real soon!

I am so jealous you get to visit DLRP so easily! I love Disney and I love anything French....so...it's just too perfect for me!

Can't wait for the next WDW update!

And I am so jealous you get to visit WDW much more easily than we do! ;)

You are so right about the bread - it's what I miss most when we are on vacation.

I am doing a Mini Disneyland Paris Trip Report and hopefully will have it all posted real soon, so I can go back to my WDW trip adventures!

Awaiting the Full Tr within a Tr!!!!!

I hope to get it started real soon, got most of the typing done, now if only photobucket would cooperate! ;)

It's true, many things are "the same" and yet different in DLRP - completely different Space Mountain, Big Thunder runs through a tunnel onto an island, the HM looks completely different, it really reminds me of the house in "Psycho" There are lots of different rides in Fantasyland and they had to add a lot at the Studios Park! There was not really much to do in the beginning, so with the addition of ToT, Crush's Coaster, Stitch Live and the Toy Story Playland the really upgraded the park and make it more worth while!

I am doing a little DLRP trip report and will give you a little more detail on the Pixar rides and the parks in general! :goodvibes

Our trip is only 102 days away, I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by.
On Friday we will hit the double digits! :woohoo:

Guess I will need to start another pre-trip report for it then, :rotfl2:!!

Looks like you had a blast, loving all the photos :teeth:

We need to find a way to get here for Christmas, the hotels aren't too much of a problem money wise but the Eurostar fares are ridiculous, do you think flying would be a better option?

We really had such a good time, Stefy! The weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed the sights and sounds of Disney.

My aunt told me about the Eurostar being outragous! 5 years ago she came to visit us in Paris for 2 days and used the Eurostar and it was real reasonable, but she told me that she had looked at the prices and they were far too high to just go for the weekend.

Looks like Paris was a total blast! Welcome home....

Thank you, Tina!
We love the parks and Magny le Hongre. So close to Paris and though right in the middle of the countryside.

Welcome home, Karin and Tom! Know you had a fabulous trip - now we're ready to hear all about it - once you catch your breath, of course! :grouphug:

:surfweb: popcorn::

Thank you!
I will start my little "squeezed in" DLRP trip report real soon. :goodvibes

The trees looked beautiful in the overhead view of DLP. I am sure you both had a great time, can't wait to hear about it.:)

We really enjoy our little trips to DLRP, even though we always have to go at the height of the season due to my school schedule. But we no longer go for the rides alone, it's the whole feel of the parks and knowing that you are at one of Mickey's homes! ;)

Bonus Mini Trip Report

Halloween Fun at Disneyland Resort Paris

Day 1, October 30

Delays, Upgrades and ……. “Just Slam The Door” - Part 1

It was 3.30am when the first alarm went off. It got turned off and we closed our eyes again. At 3.45 it could no longer be avoided, we had to get up. We got ready, had a bite to eat, said goodbye to Pixie, the cat and got in the car for the drive to the airport. Thankfully at 5am the streets are empty and we made it to the airport in the shortest possible time.

We left the car in the short term area, picked up the suitcases and headed inside the airport to drop off our luggage before parking the car. There were just two people in line and our luggage was gone in no time. We went back to the car, drove to the car park, parked the car and went back to the airport with only our hand luggage. Getting through security was easy and after a short walk through the duty-free shop it was time to board the plane to Frankfurt. They started de-icing the plane and we were all in for leaving on time, when we were informed that we had to wait for another 10 minutes until we could take off. Don't you just love a vacation that starts with a delay?

IMG_8390.jpg

Once we had reached cruising altitude the flight attendants started handing out coconut macaroons and served some drinks.

IMG_8395.jpg

It didn’t take long and it was time to fold up our tables and get ready for landing again. We had some time to kill in Frankfurt and since the new gate was very close to where we had arrived we just looked for a table and settled there to watch the bloody red dawn.

IMG_8401.jpg

IMG_8405.jpg

It was also time to consume the second breakfast we had brought from home, a sesame roll with some Italian ham.

IMG_8403.jpg

The connecting flight took off in time and after being handed a cheese sandwich and some Coke we landed in Paris.

IMG_8413.jpg

We were shocked when we looked out the plane window and it was raining. Well, one can’t change the weather so we decided to play along with it. Tom went ahead and picked up the rental car, while I waited for our luggage. When I arrived at the Hertz counter Tom was just signing the contract and we were off in no time, to discover that we had gotten an upgrade on the car! Yippie! We loaded our luggage into the car and off we went. About 5 minutes into our trip the rain stopped, and we hoped that it would stay that way! It took us about 40 minutes to get to Magny le Hongre and we decided to pick up some baguette at the little boulangerie round the corner from the hotel. We could not believe it, but even at quarter to 12 there was a line nearly out the door.

IMG_8497.jpg

At 10 to 12 we arrived at the hotel ready to pre-check in, but we were told that was not possible and to return after 3pm. So we turned around and went back to the car to discuss what to do.
