Good Afternoon,
I haven't posted to this website in over 7 years as my last trip to disney was in 2000! My then 5 year old daughter and I stayed in the Port Orleans Riverside Resort and we absolutely loved it there! I am since married and have a husband and step daughter who will be joining us in Jan 2008. We are trying to concerve money and I'm just curious as to what if any big differences there are between the P. Orleans RR vs the Disney All star Sprots resort. Our girls are ages 9 and 12 and aren't very picky eaters. We would spend most of our time in the parks so wouldn't be at the hotel a lot- other than in the evening for swimming. It is just a little overwhelming in trying to decide where to stay with so much information. I appreciate your feedback.

First, welcome back.

Second, I just stayed at Riverside last week. While I found it very nice, I prefer All Stars hands down. Movies to be exact.

The rooms are slightly larger (not very noticeable) at moderates. The pools at All Stars I found more fun than Port Orleans. The food court, to my surprise, was better at All Stars. The bar was more fun at All Stars.

The difference is in theming, food options, room size and crowds. POR has a more resort feel and incorporates the grounds. The food court is themed and you also have a TS Rest. The rooms are a few sq feet larger but will be noticable with 4 people.. The mods have less rooms and less people.
Al Stars are nice and the theming is unique
All Disney resorts are nice but there are noticable differences as you go from value to Mod to Deluxe. as one would expect otherwise no one would pay the $$$$$.

The first time we went to WDW we stayed at allstar movies and we loved it. It was great and we had a room right near the pool near the big brooms. We are though a family of 5 and the next year we had to move to POR. I have to admit I was very nervous and not sure weither to go or not. I love POR, it is very nice and the grounds are gorgious(even in March). The service we had at POR and ASM both are excellent and the food both food courts were great. I just found that the buses at the end of the park day at closing were much much better at ASM then POR.

if you have kids 9 & 12, then ASM is the way to go. it is heavily Disney themed and kids love the foodcourt and pools. if you had older kids, i would suggest POR.

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR CBR and CSR are very spread out.

The Values are laid out closer together.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restaurant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restaurant but shares with POR.

There is not much room size difference between a mod and a value.

Here is the layout of a mod.
The bathroom is about the same size as the All Stars but you will have 2 sinks instead of one.

The mod has 54 square feet more than the value.
That means if both the mod and the value room were 27 feet long than the mod would be 2 feet wider. Just enough room for a double sink instead of a single.

There is not a lot of room size difference.

The theming at the values are are a lot fun and so bright.
Little ones just love them.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

If sleeping/showering is the only issue for you, go with the All-Stars. With POR all you are is paying for an extra sink.
