Valet Parking at Monorail Resorts

The concierge at BWI explained to me that since i was PAYING for valet parking, I could park at any resort that has valet. There were never any rules stated about how long. I have had dinners at GF and monorailed over to MK for night time EMH. Never experienced any questions or problems in doing so. If I am paying for parking, I will not go out of my way to park at TTC after I am done eating. I also will not use the bus if I am paying for parking.

That seems very reasonable and I have no problem with that. If you ask and are told you can do it who are we to say you can't? But my understanding of the policy is that is not allowed so its just something that I wouldn't do.

You know,I like a good argument just as much as the next person, but the moderators need to close this one down. Where is safetymom when you need her?

Valet Parking at the CR so she can go to MK I'll bet. :goodvibes

Okay others might have addressed this but I only got to this post and the pp about the privilages of deluxe hotels. First of all things in the world are not black and white there are gray parts to. Disney is suppose to be a magic place. I think that many people are making a lot of rude comments when all someone was doing was asking a question.
Secondly I am glad for anyone who can afford a deluxe and get to do it when they go to Disney. We are a family of five, my husband is a very dedicated firefighter who will help anyone(no matter where they park or stay) we don't make a lot of money. Actually he took a huge pay cut 6 years ago to do this life changing career. We can not afford a deluxe, we were hoping to stay in one in 2008 but just think our money would be better placed somewhere else in the park. My point being just bc we don't pay for the deluxe doesn't mean we can't enjoy your hotel (site seeing)or your monorail or your resturants. I wish everyone would calm down. We are all friends. Give your opinion and go on. That's my peace now I'll move on...

First let me say this if it weren't for men and women like my husband, when you call 911 for help there would be no one to respond to your house fire, heart attack and car wrecks. He took his job bc he cares about people not MONEY. You are lucky to have people like him. They spend days away from there families and miss their sons home runs and their daughters dance recitels, and anniversary and Christmas. You are a very rude person. He gives these special things up for you!! I will keep my value resort and know that I am avoiding people like you. You need to remember the people who are there when you need them and don't ask for anything in return. My husband saved a mans life last week. What did you do? Complain about parking spaces and hammocks. PRESPECTIVE

You are going to find many a fireman and many a firefighter's wife who appreciate what they do for a living, but don't like to use the "hero" card. When people ask my husband what he does, he tells them he works for the City of *******.

I had to respond, because I'm married to a career firefighter as well, and I don't expect people to think any differently of him, our choices, or our family because of what he does. Firefighting may be a dangerous career, but it's a choice. Heck, most of the ones that I know will honestly say that they got into the career to fight fires, not to go out and save people.

Just because your husband chose this career, does not mean that you can't afford nice things. I don't know one firefighter - no matter what shift schedule they're on - who does not have a second job, my husband included. People always think they don't get paid enough for what they do, but the reality is, it offers them the opportunity to make more money than the average person holding down a 9 - 5 job.

And this does tie back into the original topic, not to you in general. We do stay at deluxe resorts when we go to WDW. We stayed at the Poly this past June. And yes, it does irk me when guests staying at another resort take advantage of the parking spaces meant for guests of that resort, and those visiting that resort, to avoid parking at the parks.

But to each his own. Whatever floats your boat. If you're comfortable doing it, knock yourself out.

Beautifully stated.....I don't think there is one person who wouldn't agree that firefighters, nurses, teachers should be among the wealthy in this country, that being said it does not give you permission to take more than is yours or more than you have paid for...I would think that these citizens would hopefully live their lives as examples to the rest of us especially their children.
Now back to topic....(whew) this parking issue is very simple even if new or confused CMs have told you different, valet parking at ANY resort if for guests of that resort or people visiting the resort for shopping or dining. It is not to park closer to the MK.
If you enjoy the ease of a certain resort pay to stay there.

What in tarnation? Moderators actively promoting the breaking of Disney rules? What is up with that?

But the question/thread isn't about self-parking - the OP specifically asked about valet parking. For the record, my (one) experience was similar to darlak's. I had breakfast at Kona Cafe, and when I went to get my car to head to a park, I asked the CM at the Valet counter if I could leave my car there for a few hours. He said it was fine, I could leave it valet-parked as long as I wanted.

I realize that, but several on this thread were sharing thier experiences with self park, and how to "hide" your car so it is not as noticable, hence my comment. Also many were saying they did not see the big deal, when they had not experienced it.

My point was and is, it is easy to say something would not bother someone when they have not experienced it.

I don't know why this has become a debate...here's the bottom line...If you choose to visit a deluxe, moderate or value property it should be for two reasons.. eat and shop! I understand people like to see other resorts..maybe for a future stay..but again "look". It's not about "rules" it's about common courtesy for the guests staying at a particuliar resort. I don't care if you are paying $40 a night or $500.00. I don't care if you are a lawyer or fireman..I am paying a lot of money for the ammenities the Polynesian offers and I should be entitled to them before a guest from another resort..period!

Say goodbye to this thread. Safetymom actually spent some time away from the DIS or I would have closed this thread earlier. :)

We will not allow any posts that attempt to cheat Disney.
