No some have stated that their paying a lot of money and they should get the hammocks on the beach and the beach chairs, and the monorail should be for guest of the resort and so on. It was stated on the third page of this thread. I feel like my kids can enjoy the world and all it offers to. Even if we can't pay out $$$$ for a room. I understand the parking and the pools, but some people have taken it past that and that's what I am commenting on. It's all about keeping up with the Jones and what you have and others don't. I know that sounds awful and I will teach my kids that we are blessed with what we have and everything else is frosting on top. Just to make a point for the little people. POPs was outstanding, loved the pools, parking, buses staff, room etc and we didn't break the bank!

Why is it unreasonable to just take what you paid for? Just realize those of us that do pay for the deluxe perks also pay for the upkeep, the gardens, the better restaurants, best viewing areas for the fireworks, etc.
Your DH took a pay cut by choice? Great enjoy his life changing experience but get out of the hammocks, don't stand in front of my lanai when WE are paying the big $$$$$$
First let me say this if it weren't for men and women like my husband, when you call 911 for help there would be no one to respond to your house fire, heart attack and car wrecks. He took his job bc he cares about people not MONEY. You are lucky to have people like him. They spend days away from there families and miss their sons home runs and their daughters dance recitels, and anniversary and Christmas. You are a very rude person. He gives these special things up for you!! I will keep my value resort and know that I am avoiding people like you. You need to remember the people who are there when you need them and don't ask for anything in return. My husband saved a mans life last week. What did you do? Complain about parking spaces and hammocks. PRESPECTIVE

I noticed you quoted my post...I was later corrected and I do realize the Monorail is for everyone. I was wrong....I never have a problem with people visiting the resorts or having a meal at the resorts..I think its great to experience all Disney has to offer.. I just don't think people should park at a resort they are not staying at to visit a park because it is closer than where they are staying or to swim in another resorts pool because it is nicer and i'm sorry if it came across differently.

Okay others might have addressed this but I only got to this post and the pp about the privilages of deluxe hotels. First of all things in the world are not black and white there are gray parts to. Disney is suppose to be a magic place. I think that many people are making a lot of rude comments when all someone was doing was asking a question.
Secondly I am glad for anyone who can afford a deluxe and get to do it when they go to Disney. We are a family of five, my husband is a very dedicated firefighter who will help anyone(no matter where they park or stay) we don't make a lot of money. Actually he took a huge pay cut 6 years ago to do this life changing career. We can not afford a deluxe, we were hoping to stay in one in 2008 but just think our money would be better placed somewhere else in the park. My point being just bc we don't pay for the deluxe doesn't mean we can't enjoy your hotel (site seeing)or your monorail or your resturants. I wish everyone would calm down. We are all friends. Give your opinion and go on. That's my peace now I'll move on...

Let's get back on topic people. This thread is about valet parking at the resorts, not the use of other resort anemities. There have been other threads on that.
The issue is that the official rules say that visitors cannot park at a resort and go to a park but resort staff are not enforcing this rule normally it appears. Nothing in the rules as I've heard them says anything about these rules applying only to self or valet parking, the rules say "parking", in other words all parking.
Okay..I thought I was moving on...I was simply stating my own opinion that I think it is wrong.isn't that what these boards are for???.if you choose to do something differently good for you! It is just something that I myself would never do.Funny. We just did this yesterday. Went to breakfast at the Poly and valet parked for the day while we went to the MK.
Guess what? Disney never once asked me to which fancy schmancy overpriced resort we "belonged." They could have cared less that we weren't Polynesian guests. They considered us resort guests (meaning the entire Disney resort) and treated us as such. Disney never told me I couldn't park there for the day. As a matter of fact, they told me it was unlimited parking for just $10.00 a day (plus tip). There is no signage, nor is there anything on my parking receipt to indicate that I wasn't allowed to park there while we were enjoying the Magic Kingdom.
Good thing for me I don't run my life or make my decisions based on what others think I should do. I learned a long time ago that just because "they" believe something is wrong doesn't mean it is. When Disney tells me to stop using their valet services, I will.
If there is one car in the lot or thousands the point is follow the rules. Is that such a difficult task? I care about people that will not do the right thing.......call me someone with a conscience who does their best to follow rules. Now (please) answer my questions. Why is it so difficult to follow rules? Why don't you pay to stay at monorail resorts?
Perfectly said.....this has happened to us as well and it can ruin a day.
But the question/thread isn't about self-parking - the OP specifically asked about valet parking. For the record, my (one) experience was similar to darlak's. I had breakfast at Kona Cafe, and when I went to get my car to head to a park, I asked the CM at the Valet counter if I could leave my car there for a few hours. He said it was fine, I could leave it valet-parked as long as I wanted.Sammie said:Until you "do" stay at these resorts and pay the high cost of that and have to walk from the TTC to the Polynesian even though you are a paying guest because the self park lot is "full" of nonresort guests, then how do you truly know if it would bother you or not.
Op--If I were you, I would just ask when you go to valet park your car. If the resort is too full and they tell you no, then you just move your car later. No big deal. I'm betting what they tell you depends on how close to capacity the resort is. If you were planning to self-pack, then no, they would definately not let you leave your car all day.
I have only stayed at the Contemporary one time. And we did self-park. And we ended up way out in the boonies, the lot was very full. So I can see how it would put a damper on your day if you could not find a place to park at all! And if I had overheard someone mention that they were from another resort, and parking there to axcess MK, you can bet that I would have said something. Fireman, Policeman, Snowman. Rules are for everyone, even those who choose to do something extrodinary with their lives that benefit the rest of us.
