Vacation request can't be put in until April 1st? Now what?

Ok so my DH can't put in his request until April 1st for vacation and then it takes around 3 to 4 days before he knows if he will be approved. We really would like to go to Disney on the buy 4 get 3 free deal but booking for that ends on the 29th of March, still can't figure out why they didn't just extend it until the last day of the month but whatever.
I am trying to figure out how I could managed to book something so as not to loose the deal but I am afraid to book and then he don't get the days off.
Do you think they will come out with another great offer to replace that one the minute that one ends?
Anyone heard of any other offers that people got as a bounce back as I know sometimes it starts as a bounce back and then is released to the public.
Do I have any other optioins?
I so want to go in May but now I am afraid we won't be able too.

Book the trip for the tail end of May by the end of March and you should still be within your 45 day window to cancel with no penalties. To be safe- I would say book for the 18th and after, but you could actually figure it down to the day and still be okay.
