If making a cash reservation, should we purchase the steep $99/person (7night cruise) travel protection?

I don't believe you have to purchase the travel insurance when you make the reservation unless it's 60 days before the cruise. Shop around! I purchased CSA travel insurance which is cheaper and covers more. It can also cover pre-existing conditions. I purchased the travel insurance because of my DD4's heart condition and my DM's general clumsiness.

I would purchase some kind of insurance....... you never know what might happen and better to be out your insurance $$ than your entire cruise fund!

We always purchase insurance. Life is too unpredictable. The $99 or less that you pay is very minor and worth the peace of mind. Maybe age or medical conditions drive most people to get the insurance, but whatever the reason, it's a good investment.

shop around....it's worth it for a 7 day in my book. We got insurance from Trip Assist (Access America) (800) 284-8300. AAA had their fliers and recommended them....fairly cheap but good coverage.
