Vacation Package Questions??

I have usually booked through AAA and I'm planning on just booking on line this time. 2 questions: 1.) Do I just pay a deposit when I book my trip on line and then make payments with the final payment due 45 days before the trip? and 2.) If for some reason I need to cancel my trip before the 45 day mark - do I just lose my deposit?

1. Yes. Interim payments are optional.
2. If you cancel before 45 days it is fully refundable. After 45 days, you lose your deposit.

And to note; a package deposit is $200. That is room/tickets/dining (basically anything more than just room).
A room only deposit is 1 nights room charge.
However, you can't convert a room only to a package, or vice versa i believe as well. You have to cancel one and start a new one.
