Just received VM today and it had a small insert in it:

Due to Member feedback, and in an effort to reduce production and mailing costs associated with this publication, we are no longer automatically mailing duplicate copies of Vacation Magic to the same address. Members with more than one master contract who would like an additional copy of the magazine may contact Member Services by calling (800) xxx-xxxx or (407) xxx-xxxx.
Phone numbers not shown are the actual MS phone numbers we all have as members.

We use to get two copies because we have 2 master contracts (different use years).

I'm glad they're finally getting a control on this. We don't need two copies and this will save on dues. We tried to get it changed a couple of years ago and for awhile only got one copy, then started getting two copies again. Looks like maybe they've finally got their computer database set up to recognize duplicate addresses.

I know some members receive even more than 2-copies because of several master contracts.

This is why I probably only got one copy of the "Vacation Planner" this year too. It is a long overdue move. I always received two copies myself.

Great news. There are times that I really do wonder about the state of DVCs technology. DVC seems to be a decade behind in basic functionality.

further reduce costs by allowing it to be emailed instead to those that wanted it that way.

oh, if only i could even just get one copy in the mail!

i have yet to receive a single copy of Vacation Magic in the mail.
i did not receive the SSR points chart that people got a few months ago.
and i didn't receive the new Vacation Guide.

something weird is up when some members get multiple copies of mailings, and other members get zero!

i'm still working on this, and hope Member Services can fix the problem.

since they're fixing the duplicates now, i hope they can fix my issue.

We got the same notification, and were happy to see it. We didn't need two of everything.

However, we also got a notification that our address was not correct in their records and that could prevent us from getting other mailings in the future.

But the address they sent it to was perfect.

I agree that their general tech level/database management could use a fair amount of work! ::yes::

Granny, I didn't mention it in the OP, but we also got the wrong address insert even though it was the correct address. (Hasn't ever changed since we purchased in 1993). Looks like the tech level isn't quite at 100%.

I have my children on my deed. It is always a suprise as to what we will get. Sometimes I get duplicate info for everybody. Sometimes I get info in my kids name but not my wife and I even though we are the buyers and paid the money. I have spoken to DVC several times by phone and several times by email and have not yet been able to get them to recognize my wife and I as the primary owners and to simply send one copy of the info. Their database seems hopelessly unorganized.

as granny did. Their database and record keeping for mailings is a JOKE!!

"Thank God" MS does a better job of keeping track of our pts or they would have a stampeed of irate

I gave them too much credit. Guess what came in the mail yesterday? Yes it was my second vacation planner for my other contract. There's always next year!
