VA Nor'easter damage w/ my new Tokina 11-16mm

We've had a tough week here in Virginia, Wed-Friday we were hit with a pretty bad nor'easter. I live about 10-15 minutes from the coast and in an area that doesn't flood often so we had minimal flooding at our house. Today I ventured out to look at some of the damage on the coastline. These were taken somewhat near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel in the Chick's Beach area of Virginia Beach.

I received my new Tokina 11-16mm on Tuesday so I haven't been able to go out and use it with the bad weather, so these are my first shots with it. LOVE the lens so far! Very fun and interesting to learn.

the storm wiped out more than a few cottages not to mention that huge container ship on the surf at Sandbridge

Thanks for the shots. I used to live in Chesapeake and my parents live in Williamsburg. They didn't have too bad a time with the storm, but lots and lots of rain. Looks like the beaches took the brunt of this one.

Yep, that's the Lynnhaven pier. The Fish House was still open when I was there though. Very sad.

I had minimal time so I didn't get down to Sandbridge (littler farther drive for me) but a few of my friends posted facebook pictures of the container ship. Crazy!
