UT ticket question

If I buy 4 day base tickets from UT but then get to Disney and decide I want hoppers, do I just pay whatever it costs to add hoppers to a 4 day base ticket or do I pay the difference between an UT ticket and a regular ticket plus whatever it costs to add hoppers to a 4 day base ticket? Hoping to order tickets tomorrow but wondering if I should decide for sure on hoppers first.

If you wanted to add hoppers to your ticket, and you tried to add it prior to entering a park before using the ticket at least once; you would have to pay the difference of the 4-Day ticket plus pay to add the park hopping option.

However; if you use the ticket to enter one of the parks at least once (prior to adding PH), you lock in the gate price and then you will only have to pay to add the PH option. So use the ticket to at least enter one of the parks then go to Guest Services to add PH if you decide. Cheshire Figment recommends doing it this way in her ticket sticky.

Also, it is the same price to add the hoppers regardless of how many days are left on the ticket.
