Using multiple gift cards to pay for resort

I'm sure there must be a sticky for this, but I can't find it.

I have about 7 or 8 gift cards that I'll be using to pay for our room only reservation. I've read something about combining cards and then being able to pay it on-line. I don't want to have to call in and wait on hold to pay with all these cards. I found one thing where Disney let's you "manage" your cards, but it doesn't look like it lets me combine them all into one. It also says I can manage "up to 5" cards...well, I have more than 5. So, how do you pay on-line with this many gift cards?

Under the manage tab you can transfer the balance from one card to another. This is how you can combine all of your cards onto one card, and then pay for your trip with the one gift card. I hope this is what you were looking for.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong; I haven't had more than one Disney gift card lately, so this is my theory.
Let's say I have 25 Disney gift cards, each with $100 value, $2500 total.
I could go to the Disney gift card website and each card can be "remanaged" to condense 5 gc into 1. If I do this 5x, I will then only have 5 gc, instead of 25. Each of those gc carry a value of $500.
If I go back and remanage them again to condense those down to one, it would have $2500 on it.

Experts, would this work?

Or if you have a room only reservation, you could just apply your gc at check in at the front desk to pay off the balance due so they don't bill your credit card.

I think this is what I was looking for. I'll give it a try. Thank you!

I think I saw someplace that you can use up to 2 cards to pay for your room on the Disney site. That's what I'm hoping to do, so that my CC will only be charged what it should be and I won't have to watch for refunds on it(if I wait until check in to pay with the gift cards).

You’ll have to call to apply payment to a room only reservation. You can’t prepay online.

And remember to hold on to those gift cards, because if you happen to cancel your trip your refund goes back to the gift cards.

No. Any gift card cannot carry more than $1,000. And I think you think this is more complicated that it is. Here's the steps:
Enroll your first permanent card.
Go to transfer funds and select input card information (I'm sorry I'm not exacting darn website isn't coming up for me right now!)
Input the card numbers
Transfer the funds to primary card #1.
Wash and repeat with 100s of cards if you want to until you reach $1K on permanent card #1 then register permanent card #2 and start transferring remaining cards to that one.

I modified one step in your guide. Since there can only be 5 cards stored on the account at one time, to do repeat for 100s of cards you have to remove some. Unless they updated the process in the last couple weeks. But yep, I concur!

Not quite. If you don't fully register the card (don't put in the name, do the transfer option and then click input card) you don't have to delete the card because it never fully registers. Been like that for a couple years. Manage cards > Transfer Balance > Enter Card information. The card you enter never fully registers this way so there is nothing to delete! (Don't click "click here to add a card" scroll down a bit to see "enter card information")
ETA: Finally got back into the site to use the right words!

Hm, that never worked for me. I'd press the Enter Card information and it'd take me to Add card. Good to know it's supposed to work that way, I'll give that a try again the next time.

Bummer! I use Chrome, idk if that makes any difference.

Just wanted to add that you don’t have to wait on hold to pay over the phone with a gift card. The automated system can handle it. Now, I only used 1 GC so I’m not sure how it works with more.

I always have lots of gift cards....anyway I go down later in the evening even the nite before check out and give the CM my gift cards and apply them to our room balance...anything else goes on the Disney Visa....
never try to do this just before you are checking out day....that could be a nitemare...

Just as an add-on question to this thread - I know you can get a 5% discount on GC through Target if you have a REDCARD - are there any other stores that offer similar or better discounts on Disney GC that anyone has experienced? I noticed, for example, that BJ's was selling them but I did not see what their discounted price was (if it was a better bargain then the 5% from Target). Thanks!

BJ's is nice because you don't have to be a member to buy them. They also have free shipping online.
$479.99 for $500
$143.99 for $150
$95.99 for $100
$48.49 for $50
$24.49 for $25

Sam's Club you have to be a member and they charge shipping and the $500 gift card is $484.98 there , so not as good of a deal.
