Using MagicBands before checking in

We arrive at Disney early in the AM. My husband & I will be checking in at AKV, but the remainder of our party will go directly to a park. Will they be able to use their MagicBands & FP+ without going to AKV with us to check-in? Also, will be doing on-line check-in. Everything is set up on MDE for the entire party.

My understanding from a CM there is that the magicband is what you have your information tied to. So as long as you linked your passes before leaving, they should be good. ( But they might not be able to do room charges till they check in... )

Even charging to room should be possible if you check in before they actually try to use the band for a charge. You only need one person to do a check-in and the bands attached to the room should all recognize that there has been a check-in. Note that in last two trips using magicbands, they have requested all our bands at check-in but that was explained as they just wanted to check to make sure they were working right because they have had "some" issues with bands not working correctly (and that is an understatement).
