There are a few weeks available (1st week in Nov.) & actually Thanksgiving week. Anyone know what the weather is like during those time periods - we want to take the kids to the Grand Canyon & was wondering, especially at Thanks. if it's snowy there. Anyone have experience w/those places? tks

We've wanted to go to the Grand Canyon. Which II location is near the Grand Canyon?

The closest to the Grand Canyon is Sedona - 2-1/2 hr. Scottsdale is about 4 hours. There are several resorts but they're not 5 star - I did a thorough search of them & none impress me - I would love the Marriott but not available.

Put in an ongoing request for the Marriott and possibly the Four Seasons as a minimum.

My wife and I were in Scottsdale the first week of November last year. It was perfect weather the whole week, highs around 80. We stayed at the Westin Kierland (which is in II), beautiful resort, great pools (which are heated).

Grand Canyon is about 4 hours drive away. We took a tour bus, long day, but worth it. We also went to Sedona (red rocks) which was a 2 hour drive, but again worth it.

The temperature variations were huge. At the Grand Canyon it was around 40 degrees, because of the elevation change.

If you have any other questions, just send me a pm and I''ll gladly help as much as I can.

I can vouch for 2 resorts in the area.
The Hyatt Vacation Club in Sedona is great, although it's not on the DVC II list. Most Hyatt's are, and in another post, someone indicated they could request a resort not on the list, so you could ask about it. You can check out the resort on the Hyatt Vacation Club site.
Also, the Marriott Canyon Villas at Desert Ridge in Phoenix is great also. Especially if you get to use the pool facilities at the adjacent JW Marriott Desert Ridge hotel (which includes a lazy river). This resort is on the far north side of Phoenix.
