Using Disney World tickets at Disneyland

I would have never thought of this! We have a couple of days left on WDW PH from years ago. Going for a surprise trip. Is there any way to verify this will work? Hate to ruin the trip to save a few hundred dollars. An tickets be purchased at the gate and are they more?

If the WDW PH is a non expiring type you will still be able to use them at DLR.

If you need more tickets that left on your PH, it is cheaper to buy them at Disneyland.com if it's a 3 day ticket or longer.

I am assuming the annual pass you all referred to from WDW is the Premier Passport, not the regular Premium annual pass that includes the water parks & more option?

I purchased a 10 day pass for Disneyworld as I will be going there in a month. However, we had a Disneyland trip planned as well. I successfully used my DW pass at DL before ever going to DW. I saw there was some confusion on this point on this thread, so thought I would share my experiences.

Wow, we are currently planning a trip to DL and had no idea this might be an option. I know DW, DS7, and I all have some days left on WDW PH NE tickets. We've been wondering how we will use these, as the past several years, we've either had APs or have had to purchase tickets while receiving Free Dining.

There is the other side of this, all 4 of us have at least 1 day on a WDW room key from one of these Free Dining trips (the other times we upgraded to APs). But I'm guessing these are just 1 day, 1 park tickets, instead of PHs.

Has anyone actually tried using unused non-activated WDW tickets?

Oh, I took that message as they were using, unused 10-day non-expiring tickets and thought it might be different than an unusued expiring type ticket.

I believe non park hopper. I was having that issue when I thought I was going to trade mine and had to make a decision about what park and when.

Protocol is to give you a parkhopper for a parkhopper, and a one-park ticket for a one-park ticket. I phrase it that way because you can occasionally get a CM that does things differently, but plan to just get a one-park ticket.

Thank you for letting me know this is an option. Might I ask where you purchased the 10-day? I get mine from Undercover Tourists and they send out a paper ticket. In the past when I activated at WDW, they gave me a plastic one so that it is more durable.

So basically, I need to find out:
1) Can I use the WDW park hopper at DL before going to DW if it was purchased from an authorized non-Disney business?
2) Can I swap out a paper 10-day pass for a plastic 10-day pass (well, it will be a 9 day pass at that point) after it is activiated once I go back to WDW?

Bumping up this post from last month as I would love to know this too...

I just found out I have a work conference in Anaheim about a mile up the road from DL next January. We were planning on a family vacation to WDW in January or February. Just got a crazy idea that my DH and DS could fly out to Anaheim on the last day of my conference, we stay for a couple of nights and go to DL (a first for them) and then we could fly directly to Orlando and spend some time there with my extended family. I would love to get our WDW tickets ahead of time from UT and then use a day or two of them at DL.

The tickets I purchased were straight from Disney... they came in the mail and were already the plastic card.

We have some old paper WDW tickets left from the early 90s. They are the sort that you had the date you used them stamped on them so they aren't digital. They are non expiring with 1 day out of 5 left on them. Has anyone been able to exchange these for a Disneyland ticket (or not!)

Yes, they will use the number that was printed on it. They can verify with Florida that it is good and deduct a day to exchange for a DLR ticket.

I read this thread and I think I may have a day left on one of my tickets from WDW, but am not sure. I'll be calling the number listed tomorrow to find out.

Just to update this, I used 4 different 1 day WDW tickets over 4 days last week (I had 4 x 4 day tickets with 1 day left on each). These were the old paper ones from the early 1990s that were manually date stamped. There was no problem using them on any of the days and it was a quick and easy process to convert them to Disneyland tickets at the turnstiles.

It must be non-expiring tickets and must be done done day at a time.

If you have a PH, you will get a PH. If you have single park, you will get single park.

They do not have to be non-expiring tickets, they just can't have expired (i.e. if they don't have the non-expiration option on them, you must use them within 14 days of the first use).

I do not know if you can use them before going to Disney World though.

I know this is from an old thread but I have the same questions so just wondering whether anyone knows the answers. Or any advice from the original poster .... did you try this out at DL with your undercover tourist tickets ?

I have non-expiry tickets bought from undercover tourist and now my WDW trip gets postponed but we will be visiting DL before the postponed WDW trip so just wondering whether I can use those new tickets at DL first before ever using them at WDW. TIA
