I have $160 accumulated on my Disney Rewards Card that I got from using my Disney Visa. What I'd like to do is when I checkin at BWV next month, use my Disney Rewards card to pay against whatever I charge against my room. I plan on basically charging everything we buy (meals, etc.) against the room and then just apply the $160 against that balance. Do I give them the card when I checkin or do I have to do something when I checkout?

I'm sorry that I don't know your answer, but I also have a question about Disney Rewards. I recevied an offer with my bill, several months ago, that said I would get receive an additional 1/2 pt. (I think it was 1/2) whenever I spent more than my average monthy balance from several previous months. I've used the Visa card exclusively since that offer, but I haven't seen any additional pts. When I spoke with Visa, the representative was not familar with this offer, but said it takes 8-10 weeks for such bonus awards to make the account. Does anyone know about this offer--I didn't save the insert. Thanks.

You'll have to make arrangements at the front desk when you check-out (or even better, the night before you check-out). They will have to split your total charges between the multiple funding sources manually.

For what it's worth, the reward card works just like a credit card and all of the Disney CMs (at least the ones we've had experiences with) are very familiar with it. You can just present the reward card at any location that accepts credit cards / room keys, and they'll do the rest. I believe your receipt even tells you how much is left on the card after each purchase.

sueg: We had a couple dollars accumulate based upon a similar promotion. As you describe, they did not appear in our balance until 3 or 4 months after actually earned. I didn't even realize that we had hit the threshold, but upon checking our balance on-line, there was a separate line item listed for promotional dollars earned.

I also have a Rewards question. My family will be using AP's but we need to buy my DD's friend a ticket when we check in. Can I apply my rewards towards the purchase of her ticket? My mother also has some reward $'s. Can I apply my mother's rewards towards the ticket also? One more, do dvc members still get 10% off tickets at check in? Thanks for the help!!

That shouldn't be a problem.

Don't know for certain if there would be anything from keeping CMs from applying more than one reward card to a single transaction. If this doesn't work, just spend the other dollars elsewhere.

No. The only DVC ticket discount now is the AP discount, and the is only valid for the deeded owner of the DVC property and any family members at the same address.

If you want a Magic Your Way ticket for the friend, you should probably just pre-order before you leave. If you go to www.disneyworld.com, you can order your ticket right from home. Pre-arrival ticket purchases are cheaper than buying at the gate. And, the web site WILL let you apply your reward card points toward the price. (Again, not certain if you can use two reward cards for the same transaction.)

If you are within a few days of the trip, choose the will-call delivery option. You'll be given an email confirmation of the purchase to present at WDW to obtain the actual ticket. If the trip is still a few weeks / months away, just pick a delivery option and the ticket will be mailed to you.

I used mine in December towards my AP purchase. I had $47, they took it off. I got some additional rewards on my December statement.

I spoke with a very helpful CM member at Disney Visa and she told me that the bonus points are only earned on CERTAIN purchases such as gas, movies, groceries and video rentals. She said they were "entertainment" charges. I called because I had spent $1500 dollars on airline tickets in October and in January the bonus points had not posted yet. If I had known that it was certain purchases only I may have not charged so much. :confused3

It is much easier to use the reward card than the original certificates. All of the places I used our card last trip, they accepted it easily and the total left is on the bottom of the receipt.
It is so much fun - like free $$$$$!
Enjoy your trip.

Magicx2; Airline tix will not get you the bonus $$ but you will get $15 disney
reward $$ for that purchase. It does take a while for the bonus $$ to appear, but they do. Keep your statements and note the charge reference when you get them (it will refer to dining, utilities, etc.). One tip, when you stay at a disney resort, don't charge your dining to the room. Use your Visa. When charging to the room your dining will get recorded as "lodging". :badpc:

Just adding my two cents here, I have used my rewards card both this past October '04 and January '05 and at least 2 times each trip the CM at the cash register didn't know how to process it! One time I remember distinctly was in England at Epcot, she "had never seen the likes of it", so if that happens suggest that another CM help them out. When the rewards program started and it was the "certificates" many CM's told me they weren't something they accepted at WDW . . . all a learing process I guess.

I just signed up for a Disney Visa card, what is the reward card? Is it a different card? or the actual visa card?

Thanks.

You will earn reward dollars for purchases on the Visa. When you get ready to redeem your reward dollars you can get a card, much like the credit card that is "loaded" with your dollars. Then you get to enjoy using them around WDW or the DCL.
That is the simple description. I'm sure someone else will post a more complete description for you.

WolfPackFan......
An answer for you....from just across town (in Cary). When we stayed at Pop Century last February, I gave them both my Rewards card and my Disney Visa at check-in......with instructions to charge everything to the Rewards card until it was exhausted....and then charge the balance to my Disney Visa. They did so without question and executed without issue. I hope it works as well for you, as it did for me.

Sorry about your Pack last night. I'm neither a Wolfpack or Tarheel fan, but I've always liked Coach Sendek since he spoke at our Father/Son Breakfast at St Michael's a couple of years back.
