Using DAS as a guest of a CM?

Hello Everyone,

I registered for DAS on my January trip and everything went great. Question now is that I have a friend that works at Corporate Disney in another country, so he has 3 guest passes. He is inviting me on a trip soon and I'm wondering if it's possible to have DAS while using one of the guest passes? Anyone got any experience? :)

Thanks

At WDW? You mention the friend works in another country, if you are visiting there any disability access program would be different than the DAS program in the US.

If it's in the US, yes you can still use DAS but I think it's not as easy -- no advanced registration, therefore no Advanced Reservations, only day-of and must be re-done each day. We have a couple of regular posters here who use guest passes...hopefully someone will be along to share details.

thanks,

We are going to WDW, I should've clarified in the op. I do think it's possible it would have to be a daily thing.

There are two ways CMs can get family and friends into the parks. One is when the CM is present and uses their Main Entrance Pass to get their Guests in. The other is a Park Hopper ticket which is pretty much the same as the regular PH ticket. Do you know which one it is?

I'm not sure. I know It's not the Park hopper one because I can see those tickets on the disney experience (friends & family). I'm guessing is the main gate one since he did say he has to be present

I've only used the CM park hopper tickets and not a Main Entrance Pass to obtain a DAS, but because the MEPs are kinda different, what Lanejudy posted sounds right to me.
Thank you, on the first day I will head over to guest services with my friend

This is accurate. I went through this process at WDW in October. You do have to go to guest services every morning. Because it resets every morning, your guests don't even have to use the same guest passes every day (though obviously it makes it easier to just tell them to hold onto the same one for the entire trip). When you arrive at guest services, you'll go through the standard DAS process. The person applying will go through the interview, have their photo taken, and then everyone else will scan their passes to create the full party.

One additional complication is that because guest passes can't be linked to anyone's My Disney Experience account, the CM admitting the guests has to do any DAS return time selections from their app (you can always still do it the old way of going to the ride and requesting a return time in person).

My adult child is a CM and when we go, we've gotten it at a blue umbrella CM. I tried to go without it last time we went to AK but my dd laid down on the floor of a ride line so we got one from that CM there, my adult kid arranged it (I'm so grateful that the CM's, my child included, are so polite and calm when a person with SN has an issue!)

I don't believe you can do it ahead of time with the CM passes, and I have not tried to do any advance reservations-we just walk to the ride and a CM give us a return time. I also believe you would need a new one each day.

I know this is an old thread but I am in the same situation. I will be using a family members gate pass as a guest and am eligible for DAS. How do they add it day of since the guest pass cannot be linked to me? I was so happy to find this thread because Disney advised it could not be done and I have been stressed about it. By asking at each Ride, do you mean you cannot book in the app since your ticket is not linked? If anyone has successfully added DAS to a gate pass lately and could help me answer my questions, I would be very appreciative!

On my trip the cast member had to be there when I requested the das, we had to do this daily but never had an issue. The das will be active on the cast member account and he will have to book the return times. The das person will still have to scan first when going through lighting lane

Thanks thats a releif to hear! When we originally planned the trip Disney said it would not be an issue and now that we asked about pre booking or what needed to be done they said DAS cannot be used at all :(

The cast member is actually my son so we will be together the whole trip and requesting the das wont be an issue at all. Are there specific locations we need to stop by or will any Guest Service location work?
Since it is my son our accounts are already linked so would any of us be able to book the DAS like we usually do or would it only show on his phone/app?

No worries! For us it worked both at guest services at the entrance of the parks and the blue umbrellas.

After the first day I would basically start my spiel saying that the first day we had gotten das but had to renew due to guest passes, and we never had any issue.

Does anyone know if my daughter or I will be able to book the DAS times with it put onto my sons account? Since we are all linked as family, both kids have not had any issues booking in their own apps for me in the past.

I believe the CM will be the only person able to book DAS Return Times in the app. Even though you are linked, the CM Guest Pass cannot be linked to your personal profile, therefore I don't believe the DAS tile can work in your app. @sparrow10_ also reported only the CM could do the DAS Return Times:
The das will be active on the cast member account and he will have to book the return times.
