Hi guys,

As annual pass holders and regular resort guests we seem to have quite a collection of magicbands.

We are taking mum with us this year and staying off site. Mum has never had a magic band etc. Can I use one of our old bands or do I need to buy her a new one? Seems crazy not to use one of the many we have. But not sure if they are ultimately linked to individuals and will therefore cause all manner of confusion?

Thank you,

Raz

You have to get her a new one if you want her to be able to use it. They are linked to the individual and may have your dad's biometric scan be the default.

However if you are staying off site there is 0 reason to buy a magicband. Your mother can use her admission ticket to do FP and entry and most photopass.

The magic bands can't be switched to someone else once they've already been linked to someone. So if you'd like to have a magic band for her you'd have to buy one. Of course you don't NEED magic bands but they are definitely convenient.

There are only a couple of places that use the long range rfid of the magic band ride photos and videos and putting the names up in small world. Now for most ride photos you can download them to a photopass card after the ride but not 7 dwarf or the video at tot
