Actually, Scott, once again everything was going fine until a couple who normally don't post on the camping board felt it necessary to stir things up. Personally, I am getting a little tired of being judged and labelled by these individuals.

I'm truly embarrassed for these guys. They have no sense of perspective. What's the Camping Board coming to. Oh yeah, it's just reverting to form. At least politics and religion didn't rear their ugly heads.

Scott, you were only doing your job, but I'm surprised you didn't blame Rhonda. :lmao:

On a purely personal note, and not in reference to any RIP stuff, we're in a Hampton Inn in Geneva NY ready to go on a days trek to visit some of the Finger Lakes wineries. We haven't been here for a couple of years - here's a Link - you might be interested Jim.

Seneca Lake Wine Trail Map

All the Finger Lakes have wineries all around them - estimates run as high as 200 wineries, but most serious winos put the count at just over 100. There are also some micro breweries too - makes for a nice trip. It's kind of an anniversary trip planned at the last minute - 36 years on Tuesday.

Most of the really famous wines here are white but there are reds too. Some of these are world class and most are worth a taste. I'm looking forward to it.

Seneca Army Depot is on the East side of the lake - just before it was closed they made millions of dollars in renovations. Go figure. This is a really beautiful area. I'll post some pictures later. Look at the map only the wineries that are park of the local wine association are listed there.

Salut

I am not the one that closed the thread, I done been at work all night, it was a Webmaster responding to a reported post.

I thought I did see a thread that got real close to politics, thats what I though would have been reported or at least brought over our visitors, I never though the RIP thread would have been. It was a lively read after work though. Later I will probably pull out some posts and re open it. Now I must get ready for my baby nephews 4th birthday!!

I liked that one too -- actually there were a few more that were pretty funny - gotta go drink some wine now.

About 20 years ago my wife and I did a wine tasting weekend around the Finger Lakes. There are some really great wines from there.

Seneca Army Depot - the unit I was PBO for had a bunch of stuff stored there in rail cars. After Vietnam, they pulled the train up, unhooked the cars and left them there. When I did my initial inventory in 1979, I located the cars under a covering of poison ivy and grape vines, pried open the cars and actually inventoried about a million bucks worth of government property they didn't even know they had. It made for a real headache for the boys in Atlanta, and eventually the stuff was whisked away, I think to central america. That was a really beautiful area and it's a shame the depot is closed.

I'm not sure when, if ever, the webmaster/moderators are going to wise up to those few who blast in, stir things up, then go whining to the powers that be in order to get a thread censored. It is a pretty common MO for a couple who shall remain nameless.
