Johnsonet, I know exactly what you mean. I feel like these things should be taken care of by IPO, but lately I'm afraid that if I don't take care of them myself I run the risk of not getting ADRs or event tickets for the dates and times that I want.

I agree. Its unfortunate that the IPOs seems to be doing less. Recently a friend asked the IPO to purchase things for the room and they were given the disney florist website. Thats unacceptable. I called for her and asked if they were no longer doing shopping for gifts and I was told well of course we do. I was like well then why did this happen? I have seen this happening with all the IPO except the GF and CR and AKL.

Kelly this happened to me last week.... I emailed my person and she gave me the link to the Disney Florist. I honestly just thought that was protocol since this is our first Disney vacation and I don't know how it all works.....

It would appear that is the new "protocol" for IPO--hey, why bother doing what you asked, let's send them to the overpriced Disney Florist even though they don't want flowers and/or food baskets. I'm sure it serves two purposes: 1. Less work for IPO and 2. Increases profits for another arm of Disney.

Maybe suggesting the florist does work for some guests, but if the guest makes a very specific request, then that should be considered before shooting off a "canned" reply. At least, that's my opinion. . .I could be wrong.

This really bothers me that a first timer would get this response. Its there job and since you have a platinum package it really is there job!!:scared1:
I dont mind Disney florist but its expensive and the IPO can get you the same stuff for cheaper and set it up in your room. I have stayed concierge 8 times in past 2 years and almost everytime they have purchased things set them up in the room for us.

I think the IPO does this so they can see if the guest will do the work. Because when I push back on them they were like oh I am so sorry.

I agree about IPO. I used to deal with 1 CM for all my trips, but she is no lomnger there. I go at a time of year where I am able to have the Club CMs do things for me. The ones at the BWI are the best.

Hi Kerry!!

I agree about the BWI staff. The club level team there is top notch and extremely friendly. I have not had an issue there at all.

Hi all,

Can someone please advise on the hello letter and the perks available (if) to the CL? I've never booked CL on any of my trips and will always do my own ADR's but we got upgraded last Oct at the BC to CL and really enjoyed the lounge so for this short unplanned trip in a couple weeks I decided to do YC CL. Where do you send this hello letter? do you just include your name and arrival/departure dates? I'm actually booking June 7-10th this week, I was just going to eat at a couple of the Boardwalk restaurants and maybe one in Epcot - can I ask them to book these for me? For my Dec trip I will book my own as we'll be doing some special stuff and I dont trust anyone but myself to get me those ressies!!! But this time I'm pretty relaxed and not dead set on any one restaurant.. It's also our Anniversary, do I mention that in my welcome letter? We dont intend to do anything special (Disney is special enough!). Anyways some suggestions or tips would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Stacey

I booked club level at AKL for first week of December....my 180 days is approaching. I got a welcome email the other day with a section to fill out my ADR requests.

My question is - I can't find park hours for December anywhere...how can I make ADR requests without knowing park hours. I would hate to make a breakfast ADR in AK if we have extra magic hours somewhere else and how do I know what Fantasmic show to request...what if there isn't two that day.

Maybe I'm just over thinking this - For those who have done this a million times...I could use some advice. Please excuse my ignorance, I've never stayed on the resort before and the club level thing is confusing me.

Park hours for December are not out yet. There is a thread on the theme park board that talks about it.

I'm staying at CL at AKL in June and Don, an IOP at ALK, has been absolutely fantastic. I actually feel bad for him because I've changed my ADR's around several times and asked for a few special requests like a Wishes Fireworks cruise and some gifts in the room. He has always emailed me back promptly and every request has been met. He's absolutely wonderful and I'm so thankful that he's helped me out!!
I can't wait to thank him in person in just a few weeks!

OK, we are doing a weird Disney trip,

December 16-18 Poly Concierge
December 19-22 Coronado Springs
December 23-27 Beach Club

We booked this on line, so I e-mailed The Poly to make sure all was well, and they confirmed it with the request sheet for ADR.

Will I just be able to make the ADR's thru them for the 3 nights we are at The Poly or all nights?

I asked IPO for our Xmas trip and they told me they were only able to do my ADR's which at the GF. (we are moving to BCV and I will do these myself)

:thumbsup2 I agree! They should all be like Don!

Well that is a sign of the times because they USED to do all the ADRs for the duration of a guest's whole stay whether it was all concierge or not.

Seriously.

I thought I read that somewhere also but when I asked Calvin...he told me no. I will probably ask again.

I was told that the regular AKL CL rooms are all on the 4th floor facing the Arusha Savannah. I called AKL IPO about a week or two ago wondering the same thing. Lounge is still on 6th floor, like others have said.

I'm not sure if they are all on the 4th floor. I was staying at AKV CL this past weekend and I was talking to a couple of people who were AKL CL guests. They mentioned that they were on the 2nd floor.

Don is THE BEST. I wish the IPO CMs of the other resorts were required to have "Don Training" :earsboy: :earsgirl: He's a sweetheart and really personifies Disney Magic :wizard:

The AKL lobby is actually on the 3rd floor, so if they were one floor up on 4th flr CL then I could see why they might think they were on 2. Makes sense?

Here's a Don question for ya:

I received my welcome email, but had a few questions before I filled it out so I called AKL IPO and left a message. It was Don who called me back. Now I am ready to send the email back, but how do I know I will continue to work with Don? Will my email go to him since I've already had contact with him? Do I need to address my email to him or what? Will my email be worked on from someone else who pulls it from a pool?

I would just like my CL stay to continue to be "Don'd" since luck of the draw had him returning my original phone call. ;)
