Useful Concierge Information

So i just received my concierge e-mail, but i have a question. It says that it is from the Grand Floridian, but the e-mail says it is from the girl i spoke with from the contemporary. Are the e-mails sent out from the Grand Floridian? Or did i do something wrong?

Thanks!
Alena :confused3

The 2 resorts share itinerary planning. I had the same thing happen last summer :thumbsup2

Does no bottled water just apply to AKL? What about the GF lounge.

Thanks!!!

There is no bottled water in the GF lounge that you can take with you. Just big glass bottles. If you ask they will give you one to take to your room, but no small bottles to take to the parks.

There was no bottled water at the WL , CR, or AKL. At the WL and CR they gave us a large bottle to bring and leave in the room. At the AKL he told me to go to the gift shop. That is until I mentioned that I wanted the water in the room to take medicine with. Then he gave me 3 water bottles for the room. Funny thing with AKL, upon check out when the bellman came to the room, he gave us a bag with 2 water bottles in it. It's an African tradition the paper said. I gave them to the club level staff since we were leaving and the water was warm~

We will be staying BWI Garden Suite from Dec.8-16th and tomorrow is 180 days out and time for ADRs.
OK. Have not heard from concierge yet. Am I wrong to assume that a suite gets concierge service like when we stayed at the Poly last year? If we were staying at the Poly they would have contacted us by now and gotten ready to place our ADRS like they did last year.
Nothing from BWI.:confused3
So I am booking my own ADRs tomorrow.

Probably by now you've gone ahead and made your adr's......but it might still be worth it to contact your IPO office for any you couldn't get - I believe those are cl suites and as such should have available pre-planning services. I hope you get what you want:) Did you book through a TA? They wouldn't have record of your ressie......

It was rare for me to get an e-mail or letter except from AKL. I would just send them an e-mail. The address is listed on this thread. They were fantastic for me.

We also had a GREAT experience with AKL Concierge last time. I hope the folks at Contemporary are just as good::yes::

I should say that YC/BC/BWI IPO were fantastic and not just AKL (though AKL & GF are my favorite). ;)

I need help from the experts---
My DH thinks we are allow to the concierge benefits all day of our check out day even though we have already checked out. The reason for this discussion is that we are doing the Sunrise safari ride 12/7 as well as checking out this day to go to SSR. I thought once we checked out we were done with concierge and was planning meals for this day. My DH said no we had the benefits for this day too. Can someone help me out with this because I do not want to be caught doing something wrong.

Thank you so much!!!

I believe you have CL access to midnight of your check out date. I know when we stay CL at the BWI that holds true.:thumbsup2

You definately have concierge benefits until midnight of the day you check out of your room. We always hit the lounge after the parks on check out day for snacks and drinks before we leave the resort for our final time. Enjoy the Sunrise Safari and AKL! One of our favorites!!!!

If you ask IPO nicely they usually do not mind making ADR's on the day you leave or a bit beyond. ;)

The Safari is wonderful! The last time we did it, the animals were so active and came up to the truck for a close up look at us! Oh, and the black rhinos were sparring right in front of us. One even lifted the other ones back legs straight up in the air...it was incrediable and my kids were in awww! Our guide said in all the yrs she worked there, she had never seen that kind of "show" before. We also got lucky that our guide sat at the breakfast table with us and we chatted with her about her job and her love for animals.

I'm excited for you just thinking about it! Have a truely magical trip!!

We got lucky having our guide sit with us, too! She and my DH share the same name. I loved that we were able to ask so many questions, how she arrived to working at Disney, etc. In fact, we loved it so much that we're doing it again. This time we'll have my MIL & SIL with us to share it with. YES, you're going to love this safari. Definitely worth a little loss of some shut eye.

Sunset (AKA: Wanyama) Safari is also a nice adult evening out. ;)

We were told by CRO that as soon as we check out of concierge we lose all privelages.

However, we've been told by concierge staff that we can access everything (but our room) until midnight.

I'm sure that the CM at CRO was just misinformed, since in the past it has always been midnight. After all, some people have a late night flight out and still get to use the pool and other resort amenities.

Have a great time -- we cant wait to try the safari!!!
