Don't throw out mail from USAA this week - it's not junk mail. We just got our SSA distribution check today. Yeh!!!

DH and I were just talking about this! Last year, one of us accidentally threw away the check thinking it was junk mail, but USAA issued a new one. Even though they were very nice about it, I want to avoid having that happen again! I'll keep my eyes open for it.

I also bank with USAA, does anyone else think it is wierd that they mail me a check so I can sign it and mail it back to them to deposit into my account? In a world of direct deposit this just seems like several extra steps and expense. I'm not complaining about free money - just observing.

question...is the SSA different than the auto policy holder dividend? We usually get a policy dividend, but never an SSA?

Hubby got an envelope--but it was blank in regards to who it was from.

Mine came in a normal USAA envelope although it said "please do not discard before opening"

Okay, didn't get it yet.

But all our mail goes through an Orlando sorting center before we get it on the coast. So I imagine they have it over there right now.

The SSA dividend is different from the auto dividend. You either get one or the other based on your type of membership with USAA.

We just live up the coast in Jacksonville and we got ours yesterday. I was surprised that it came so early this year. Hopefully, yours is on it's way

Hopefully I didn't toss it. I think I got something from them the other day and it went into the trash (although it may be in my "to be shredded" pile). I guess if I don't get anything by next week, I will call them.

Okay, I got mine today and was all excited to open it.... only to discover it wasn't a check! Instead I had a letter stating that they were pleased to inform me that they were crediting my insurance account with $49.

I feel somewhat like Clark Griswald in Nat'l Lampoons Christmas Vacation when he didn't get his Christmas bonus.

I've gotten a check from USAA every year since I started using them, and this year we added my husband to the account so I thought we might get even more.

Oh well. A credit is a credit (even though if they spread $50 over a 6 month premium that's not going to be very helpful since we pay monthly) and I shouldn't complain.

But I am a little disappointed.

They did the same thing to us!! They credited our homeowners policy the SSA! Oh well, it wasn't that much anyway.

How do you earn it BTW?

Got mine today!

A few years back I accidentally threw our check out and USAA was great and credited our account instead. I love USAA!
