Gosh I wish we could get insurance through them. We have auto loans and a checking account with them. It would be nice to receive some money from them. I could shoot dh for not signing up with them when he was in the military.

Can you not get insurance through them now? I thought they had opened it up to former military and more? It used to be officers only, but they've expanded quite a bit in recent years.

we are dependants and have car insurance.

we also have credit cards with them...but I don't think that counts.

Our auto account was credited today. They took the whole amount of this months bill so that works out perfect for me, less insurance bill right before christmas!

I didnt realize they ever sent an actually check out. Do you all have checking/savings accounts with them? I dont bank with them but perhaps I should.

They are absolutely awesome to bank with!! Their customer service rocks!

My dh only served 4 years and got out. We tried last year (I think) and they said we were not elegible. My dad is retired navy and never opened an account with them. Can he do it now? If he can then I can enroll under him as a dependent child (something like that)? Maybe I'll have dh call again and double check.

Yes, if he is retired from the military (has benefits, etc) he can enroll with USAA.

My husband enrolled when the finally opened it up to enlisted. He was in the reserves at the time with prior active duty.
