Scott, I was brought to tears by your story. This just proves to me that the Dis is a great big extended family with people like Shirley, Norm and DU there when we need them!! I am so thrilled that Steph and Mariah got the birthday cruise that they have been planning for so long. Thank you to all that made their dreams come true!!!!

Hello Scot,
I was sitting outside on the patio this morning when the ships started arriving.
It was still dark, but the port is so lit up that its a scene that Norm and I see
every day there is ships at the port - Anyhow I had already heard it was a very close call, but also glad to hear all went well.
Is Steph and Myriah doing WDW before they leave for home? Regardless I am sure it is a story that will be around for a long time and one that Myriah will share with her kids many years from now.

I hope the Marriot Orlando Airport gets some good press out of this too. The employee who drove the stuff over the hwy sure deserves some bigtime kudos!! Great story to forward to the Orlando Sentinel - see if they would print some of the good stuff instead. Everyone involved really deserves a bunch of high 5's!

I did write the editor of the Orlando Sentinel and Florida Today and explained the big part this hotel played in this role and the COC but they never answered back so I guess good news doesn't sell newspaper as well as the bad

I do agree with you especially since "stuff" is so bad for so many all over and when you read something regardless where, of something good happening, for some reason, your spirits pick up and somehow you have the courage to keep on going in this life. Everyone needs to believe that there is something good at the end of the rainbow.

i know it was a mariott, but in all the confusion and hustle and bustle, i forgot to ask steph and scott - i thought of the same thing but just have had too much buzzing around my head - maybe kelsie knows and will post.

I just know that everything that was done brought out the very best in folks and also it showed that there is still so much caring especially when our world has felt like it has been caving in on us. You pick up the paper, you read on the net, you experience it yourself of all the wickerness and you stop and wonder "doesn't anyone care about anyone anymore"?
All of sudden a young lady is put in a situation that many have been in or could happen to them and an army of caring folks pop up and willing to help just to help without any strings attached. All the planning, all the i know it won't happen to me cause i got everything covered, goes out the window cause just when you say it won't happen, you are brought down to your knees cause it did. I didn't realize that steph's ta was du until about 4 hours into the scrambling around and was really relieved simply b/c i am comfortable working with them - i have worked with other ta once in a while but none have had the problems steph had. I wouldn't have cared who the ta was, it was the caring, concern and the support this board offers that made making stuff happen so much better - it is so true du are not miracle workers, they are not magical faires and using them won't guarantee you miracles, but i tell you one thing, they sure make it possible for those that want to come on their site and discuss anything from apples to zebras.
Ok i am off my soap box again and to say thanks again to all is repeating myself, but i love repeating myself.
May today continue to start off great for everyone and know even if there wasn't a shop, we would always still be here for ya.

wow just read 15 pages on this post at once and basically cried from the beginning. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped this family enjoy a magical journey. They wont and all the disers wont ever forget this. Believe me i have written down shirley and norm's cell numbers for our cruise.thank you so much for being there for all of us. It is one big family and we do have each others back. One other questions can canadians use dreams unlimiited because next time if i can i sure will without a moments hesitation. Thanks to all the angels that are on earth helping strangers because that's the kind of people they are. Believe me the newspaper should use this story. We need to hear this good news.
