The Corelle thread got me thinking - what do you call pasta bowls and what do you use them for?

We have these and just added them to our repertoire a few years ago.

They’re wonderful except they sit a little high and need special configuration in the dishwasher.

It’s so funny that this thread is here because it’s been a debate in our house since we got them as to what to call them (we still fight over the cat’s name years later, so this is a common occurrence in our stubborn household). I call them “pasta bowls” and the kids call them “plate bowls”, which I think is awful :rotfl2:
 
I'm glad DH and I are not alone in this debate. I notice crate and barrel calls them "low bowls," which is now in contention with "wide bowls" IMO. DH will understand what bowls I mean and won't try to argue with me that they can't be pasta bowls with Asian style stir fry, enchilada casserole, or salad in them.
